The Provincial Party Standing Committee supports TKV's policy of building an aluminum smelting plant in Bao Lam district.

The conclusion stated: The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee supports the policy of building an aluminum smelting plant in Bao Lam district of TKV Group. It is requested that the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Bao Lam district closely follow the policy of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, pay attention, closely coordinate, and support investors so that the project can be implemented soon.

At the same time, assign the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to lead the Provincial People's Committee to direct the directors of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment, and Industry and Trade to urgently deploy related tasks, coordinate to review and comprehensively evaluate the conditions of mine reserves, zoning, carry out compensation, site clearance and other conditions to implement the investment project, forming an aluminum smelting plant according to the determined goals.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has also issued a document directing relevant departments, branches and localities to urgently implement the contents of this conclusion. In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to be the focal point, to grasp information, urge, synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee on the situation and results of implementation of related contents before the 25th of each month to report to the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee according to regulations.

Previously, on April 12, 2024, at a working session with the Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, TKV leaders reported on the investment plan to develop the bauxite - alumina sector in the province in the coming time.

Accordingly, TKV always identifies Lam Dong province as a strategic location to continue investing in resource exploration and development and investing in new bauxite - alumina projects, in order to further enhance the Group's production and business value, as well as actively contribute to the province's socio -economic development.

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and the request of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, up to now, TKV has completed the work of building the overall development project of the bauxite - alumina - aluminum sector until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

According to the Project, in Lam Dong province before 2030, TKV will focus on implementing 2 exploration projects and 2 bauxite - alumina projects with a total estimated investment capital of 35,752 billion VND to serve the expansion and increase the capacity of Tan Rai Alumina Complex to about 2 million tons of alumina/year.

In the future, when the demand for alumina and aluminum increases; the power source and power supply system are sufficient for the production of aluminum ingots as planned for minerals; the road, railway, and seaport systems in the region are fully invested and synchronously connected..., TKV will continue to invest in developing new bauxite - alumina - aluminum projects in the Central Highlands (priority in Lam Dong province) to further improve production and business efficiency, making positive contributions to the construction and socio-economic development of Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region.

Currently, TKV has been focusing on implementing the necessary tasks to explore and prepare for investment in projects in Lam Dong province. In particular, it has focused on preparing important resources to implement projects including: Developing consumer markets; preparing sufficient investment capital for projects; allocating development investment funds; working with domestic and foreign credit institutions to prepare capital sources; preparing human resources and perfecting Project Management Boards to meet the implementation of projects.

At the same time, a project is being prepared to explore the areas of Loc Lam - Loc Phu (Bao Lam district) with an area of 4,097 hectares, Tan Thuong - Dinh Trang Thuong (Di Linh district) with an area of 3,690 hectares to report to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for appraisal and issuance of exploration licenses in the second quarter of 2024, as a basis for organizing construction and soon submitting to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for approval of reserves, meeting the conditions for establishing the Lam Dong 1 cluster ore mining and selection project with a capacity of 7 million tons of raw ore/year (about 3 million tons of refined ore/year) according to the law on mineral activities.
