( Bqp.vn ) - On the afternoon of October 10, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense , chaired a working conference with agencies and the Air Defense - Air Force (PK-KQ) on technical assurance work.

After listening to the report of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, opinions of the competent agencies, and giving instructions at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh highly appreciated the results of technical assurance work for the Air Defense - Air Force Service's tasks in the past time; at the same time, requested the Service to continue to strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and commanders at all levels in technical work; synchronously and effectively implement all aspects of technical work, and build a modern Service. Focus on research and mastery of technology; request the Ministry of National Defense to invest budget resources to repair and create sources of materials to replace some types of modern equipment and weapons to meet the requirements of training and combat readiness missions...

As a force prioritized for development towards modernization, in recent years, the Air Defense - Air Force Service has invested in many new generation technical equipment and improved and modernized equipment. This is a favorable condition for the Service to improve its overall quality and combat strength, increasingly meeting the requirements of the task of managing and firmly protecting the Fatherland's sky.

In addition to the advantages, the Air Defense - Air Force Service also faces many difficulties and challenges such as the large quantity of technical equipment to be managed, exploited and used, diverse in types, many old and new generations intertwined; the technical assurance work for new generation technical equipment is very complicated and strict; the source of replacement materials, especially special types, is scarce... In that situation, the Air Defense - Air Force Service has led and directed the implementation of technical tasks well; ensuring full and timely technical equipment for training, combat readiness, management, flight operations and unexpected tasks. Technical work has many innovations and creativity; programs, goals and basic targets have met and exceeded the set plan; scientific research, training and technical training have been valued and achieved good results.
