This is a practical activity to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party; to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950 – 2025), and to launch the “Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange Year”, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the field of music between the two countries.

The Organizing Committee announced that the 2025 National Expanded Music Festival will comprise two areas: the Music Works Festival and the Vietnamese Vocal and Instrumental Solo Performance Festival (performance festival). Accordingly, in the Music Works Festival area, participating works must be new compositions from 2024-2025 by members of the Vietnam Musicians Association, belonging to branches and groups of musicians nationwide, and must not have participated in any competitions organized by central agencies or departments.
The categories of works participating in the festival include songs or instrumental solos (no longer than 7 minutes per work). In the category of performances by singers and artists, the categories of works participating are songs or instrumental solos. The works performed in the festival must be Vietnamese pieces, chosen by the singer or artist themselves, and of high technical quality. Participating artists may or may not be members of the Vietnam Musicians Association, and may be selected and nominated by their respective branches.
The works and performances participating in the festival focus on reflecting themes about the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; about the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; about love for the homeland, country, and Vietnamese culture and people in tradition and in the new era of national development; international culture and friendship…

The 2025 National Music Festival, expanded to include over 600 musicians and artists from 38 branches of the Vietnam Musicians Association in provinces and cities nationwide, with more than 185 performances. The program features the participation of many famous singers and artists.
The Vietnam Musicians Association announced that, within the framework of the 2025 National Music Festival, a musical performance program titled "Vietnam-China Friendship Symphony" will take place, performed by the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet Theatre (HBSO) along with Vietnamese and Chinese artists and singers.
The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival is a celebration for musicians and music lovers, aiming to showcase and promote new musical works and projects; and to continue encouraging exploration and creativity in the fields of music composition, performance, and education.
This is also an opportunity for musical exchange and interaction between composers and performing artists from both Vietnam and abroad, meeting the increasingly sophisticated artistic tastes of the public.
