Smoke and fire suddenly rose fiercely from a food service business in Cai Nuoc commune, Ca Mau province early in the morning and spread to adjacent houses.

At 4:55 a.m. on July 28, residents of Hamlet 2, Cai Nuoc Commune, Ca Mau Province discovered smoke and fire rising from a "Ghien Mi Cay" shop owned by a local household, so they shouted to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful.

The fire quickly burned down this food service business; at the same time, the fire spread to 3 adjacent houses. Dozens of Fire Police from Ca Mau Province Police were present at the scene, working with local forces to put out the fire. By 6am the same day, the fire was basically extinguished.

Chairman of Cai Nuoc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Bac Ai said that fortunately the fire did not cause any human casualties, but many people's properties were burned down. "The cause of the fire is being clarified. Currently, the local government is calculating the property damage and forming a delegation to visit and provide initial support to people whose houses were damaged," said Mr. Ai.
