Accordingly, the set of artifacts includes a necklace, a pair of bracelets, a pair of earrings, 3 buttons, 2 boxes of lip balm, 2 pairs of incense sticks, a fan, 1 betel leaf, 3 areca nuts, a plaque, 1 piece of gold leaf, totaling 3 taels, 99 dong, 2 lai.
All of the above items are made of gold, on the cards are the words Trung Thien Thanh Mau, Trang Huy Thuong Dang Than, Duc Bao Trung Hung, Phan Tran Truc, bearing the mark of Vietnam's Mother Goddess worship. The group of antiques is determined to date from the Nguyen Dynasty, in the 1920s, donated by a person named Phan Tran Truc to the Nghe Temple worshiping female general Le Chan.
According to documents from the Hai Phong Museum, in 1959, when he was assigned to look after the Nghe Temple, Mr. Pham Ba Hung deposited this set of antiques in the State Bank of Vietnam according to the regulations at that time, with a total weight of nearly 4 ounces. In 1976, this amount of gold continued to be deposited at the State Bank Branch in Hai Phong.
According to the Director of Hai Phong Museum, after 48 years, the gold artifacts are still preserved at the State Bank of Vietnam, Hai Phong branch. In order to preserve and promote the value and meaning of the artifacts and to meet the religious needs of the city's people and visitors, Hai Phong Museum has reported to the Department of Culture and Sports , requesting the Department to send a document to the Bank, agreeing to let Hai Phong Museum receive the gold artifacts of the Nghe Temple relic that are being deposited at the Bank for management, preservation and promotion.
Female General Le Chan (20-43) was born in Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh . She participated in the uprising of Hai Ba Trung, held the position of Commander of the internal military power, and was responsible for guarding the Hai Tan region. Later, she established the ancient village of An Bien and laid the foundation for today's Hai Phong city. She was revered by the people as the Holy Mother - the tutelary god of Hai Phong city.
To commemorate the merits of the female general, the people built a small temple to worship her. After many restorations, Nghe Temple now has the style of the Nguyen Dynasty and was recognized as a national historical relic in 1975, attracting many visitors every year.
In 2011, Hai Phong City restored the traditional festival of female general Le Chan and was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage. The festival takes place from the 7th to the 9th of the second lunar month. Every year, the procession of the Lady attracts thousands of people to participate in many sacrificial activities, ceremonies, incense offerings and many other folk cultural activities.
This year, the traditional festival of female general Le Chan is being urgently organized by units with traditional activities, in addition to the narcissus flower contest, rural market, clay firecracker performance, traditional martial arts, Xam singing, Cheo singing, Van singing...
