I have an acquaintance who participates in the "Donate rice to feed children" Fund. Every month she regularly sends a few hundred thousand to buy rice and food for a child at a school in a remote area.
The other day, she bragged: "My adopted child" has grown up so much, and at the end of last school year, he even received a certificate of merit for being an excellent student.
The foster mother was happy when her child grew up.
The adopted girl was selected through a profile sent from the school to an online forum.
Every few months, the "foster mother" is updated on her child's learning results, sent pictures of her child playing and doing activities; when needed, she can connect by phone with the homeroom teacher to update on the child's learning situation, and if she can arrange the time, she can also visit to see how the child and his friends have grown...
As long as there is heart, all barriers and distances are no longer obstacles.
When trust is established through transparency, the help becomes more sustainable and widespread. A little contributes a lot, as long as people have a deep belief that the good they do is truly effective. And in the age of technology, kindness can spread faster thanks to "digitalization".
The Party and the State are trying to give the best to the future generation. Tuition is free at public schools, and tuition is subsidized at private schools. Many localities maintain free lunches…
However, the state budget cannot solve all problems. Many situations, many worries, many lives can only be compensated by sympathy and volunteerism.
For many years now, there have been countless silent charity programs: "Supporting children to go to school", "Helping children go to school", "A pair of loving leaves", "Supporting exam season", "Lighting up dreams"... These programs have one thing in common: keeping dreams from fading, so that children's journey to find knowledge has more light.
Light ahead thanks to the School Support Scholarship
Helping a poor student go to school today is like adding another brick to build a solid foundation for the country in the future. A child who gets an education not only changes his or her own life, but can also change the future of a family and a village.
Therefore, student support programs need to be maintained with perseverance and the belief that every contribution - no matter how small - is meaningful.
A company sets up a scholarship fund for workers' children. A locality sets up a scholarship fund for poor students to overcome difficulties. An individual contributes some of his financial and intellectual resources to accompany education .
Student Le Kim Hoang Vy in Lam Dong is an orphan and lives with her sick grandmother. She doesn't know what her future will be like without kind hearts.
The Tuoi Tre newspaper's "Tiep Suc Den Truong" scholarship program helped that poor student nurture her dream of studying to become a nurse to take care of sick people like her grandmother.
Dang Van Thuan, from Quang Ngai, his father died of cancer and his mother is seriously ill. The filial boy knows how to save money by raising chickens and saving money to buy medicine for his mother to treat cancer. He is now a mechanical engineering student at Da Nang University of Technology. The poverty and hardships are not over yet, but the road ahead is bright with hope thanks to the scholarship " Tiep suc den truong" (School Support Scholarship )...
Nurture the spirit of learning and the desire to excel
For poor students, material support is very important but still not enough. Equally important is to foster the spirit of learning, self-respect and the desire to excel. In many places, student volunteer clubs have become a great bridge.
They not only give gifts and scholarships, but also organize charity classes, teach life skills, read books, listen to music, and tell stories with the children. That is the way to nurture dreams with both intelligence and emotion, so that the seeds of studiousness can grow in an environment of human love.
Joining hands to nurture dreams - sounds simple but is a profound message of responsibility and love. Because in this unpredictable world, the most sustainable thing is still kindness. When helping a child go to school, you are not only giving money, but also giving opportunities, giving trust, giving a better future to the whole community.
The precious thing is that many of those boys and girls, when they grow up, always remember the gratitude of life, and always keep in mind to turn back and help others. Happiness spreads when dreams are nurtured with the knowledge and hearts of many kind Vietnamese people.
Joining hands to nurture dreams is joining hands to sow seeds for the future. And when the seeds of humanity sprout in every heart, this country will never run out of the light of hope.
