Former ward chairman prosecuted for assisting in making illegal red books

The Investigation Police Agency of Bien Hoa City ( Dong Nai ) has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused (release on bail) Phan Thanh Sac (50 years old), former Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hoa Ward (Bien Hoa City) to investigate the act of taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties, according to the provisions of Article 356 of the Penal Code.

The above decisions were all approved by the People's Procuracy of Bien Hoa City.

The Bien Hoa City Police Investigation Agency coordinated with the People's Procuracy at the same level to search the suspect's residence and seized many related documents to serve the investigation.

According to the initial investigation, in 2019, in his capacity as Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hoa Ward, defendant Phan Thanh Sac took advantage of his position and power to legalize land use rights transfer documents and documents requesting the issuance of land use rights certificates in the ward for a number of cases in violation of regulations, causing damage to the interests of the State and damage to the legitimate rights and interests of individuals.
