From the joy of having electricity to the worry of "thirst" for electricity
Looking back at history, since the beginning, humans have known how to take advantage of natural light and primitive energy sources such as firewood and torches. When electricity was born, it created a revolution, completely changing the life, production and living of mankind. From the electric light that lights up every house, to the energy that operates an entire modern industry, electricity has become an indispensable part of life. However, the convenience and outstanding development that electricity brings also poses significant challenges.

The growing dependence on electricity has led to a surge in demand for electricity. Meanwhile, the electricity supply, despite significant progress in exploiting renewable energy sources, still relies mainly on fossil energy sources such as coal, oil, and gas. The exploitation and use of these energy sources not only causes negative impacts on the environment such as air pollution, greenhouse effect, but also poses a potential risk of depletion in the future.
Vietnam, a rapidly developing country, is no exception to this trend. The demand for electricity is constantly growing to meet the needs of economic development and the increasingly high living standards of its people. In recent years, the risk of power shortages, especially in the dry season, has become a constant concern. Power grid incidents and local overloads during the hot season not only cause inconvenience to daily life but also affect production and business activities, affecting the economy.

Saving electricity - "a few small things make a big difference" in the fight against waste
In that context, saving electricity is no longer a slogan but has become a practical action, an urgent and sustainable solution. Every small action such as turning off the lights when leaving the room, unplugging electrical appliances when not in use, using energy-saving electrical appliances, adjusting the air conditioner temperature appropriately... all contribute to reducing the burden on the national power system.
"Many a little makes a big difference" is the power of accumulation, of small actions carried out persistently and unanimously. If every family, every agency, every business is aware of the importance of saving electricity and does it regularly, the total amount of electricity saved will be a significant number. This not only helps reduce costs for individuals and organizations, but also contributes to ensuring national energy security, minimizing negative impacts on the living environment.
Not just responsibility, personal habits
However, saving electricity is not only the responsibility of each individual, but requires the synchronous participation of the entire political system, management levels, businesses and the entire community.

On the government side, there needs to be specific and effective policies and regulations to encourage and promote the use of energy saving. This includes developing energy efficiency standards for electrical equipment, issuing regulations on energy saving in construction works, supporting renewable energy projects, and strengthening propaganda and education to raise public awareness of the importance of saving electricity.
Enterprises, especially manufacturing enterprises, need to take the lead in technological innovation, apply advanced production processes, and use energy-saving equipment to reduce production costs and improve competitiveness. At the same time, enterprises also need to be responsible for promoting and mobilizing cadres, employees and the community to save electricity.
On the community side, each citizen needs to raise their sense of responsibility and change their habits of wasteful electricity use. Choosing and using electrical equipment with energy labels, making the most of natural light and wind, maintaining electrical equipment periodically to ensure the best performance, and turning off electrical equipment when not in use are practical actions that each person can take every day.
Towards a green and sustainable future
Saving electricity is not simply a temporary solution to deal with the imminent risk of power shortages, but also an important step in the journey towards a green and sustainable future. Reducing electricity consumption means reducing greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to environmental protection and responding to climate change. Reducing dependence on fossil energy sources is also the path to opening up the development of clean and sustainable renewable energy sources such as solar power, wind power, and wave power...

In a world that is increasingly aware of environmental challenges and the need for sustainable development, saving electricity is no longer an option but has become an inevitable requirement. It is a shared responsibility of the whole society, a practical action to protect precious resources, protect the living environment for ourselves and for future generations.
"Many a little makes a big difference" - let our small actions to save electricity accumulate and create a great force, contributing to building a greener, cleaner and more sustainably developed Vietnam.
