The best quality oil in the world is found in Türkiye

On May 21, Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said that the oil field discovered in the Southeast of the country is of the best quality in the world .

“We found the best quality oil in the world there,” Türkiye's Energy Minister announced.

Mr. Donmez revealed that experts started working on the fields in the Gabar mountains four years ago.

Earlier, on May 3, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that an oil field with an estimated capacity of 100,000 barrels per day had been discovered in Türkiye.

The new resource was identified near an existing oil field in the Gabar Mountain area in Sirnak province, southeastern Türkiye, Mr Erdogan said.

The newly discovered oil field has the potential to produce more oil than any other field in the country and will strengthen the country's energy independence, the Turkish leader added.
