On October 30, new Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem also announced that he would agree to a ceasefire under acceptable conditions, although he noted that he had not received any proposals. Prime Minister Mikati revealed that the agreement would be linked to the implementation of the UN resolution that ended the 2006 conflict between the two sides and would be completely separate from the conflict in Gaza. Mr. Hochstein is expected to arrive in Israel on October 31 to discuss the ceasefire agreement.
