On the morning of May 6, the domestic coffee market recorded a price reduction in the Central Highlands provinces. Specifically:
In Dak Nong, coffee prices dropped sharply by VND1,300/kg, to VND128,700/kg - still the locality with the highest price in the country.
In Dak Lak, coffee prices dropped by 1,500 VND/kg, down to 128,500 VND/kg.
Gia Lai also recorded a decrease of 1,200 VND/kg, to 128,500 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Lam Dong - where prices are often lower than average - decreased by VND800/kg, down to VND128,200/kg.
This is the lowest price in the past 10 days, marking a series of consecutive adjustment days due to profit-taking pressure, high inventory costs and the psychology of waiting for stable international prices of domestic purchasing enterprises.
However, pepper prices and USD/VND exchange rates tended to decrease slightly compared to before, down 1,000 VND/kg and 10 VND/USD respectively. This shows the fluctuations in the domestic and international agricultural markets.

News, forecast of coffee prices tomorrow, May 7, 2025, will stagnate or decrease slightly
With the push from the world market, many experts predict that domestic coffee prices will slow down tomorrow (May 7), and some localities may increase slightly by 200-300 VND/kg if buying power returns.
However, the recovery momentum will depend on a number of factors such as:
Weather situation in the Central Highlands and South America: If the weather is favorable, coffee production may increase, creating downward pressure on prices.
Contract closing trend at international exchanges: If speculators continue to take profits, coffee prices may fall.
USD/VND exchange rate and domestic logistics costs: If exchange rate and transportation costs increase, coffee prices will be under pressure.
If the London floor continues to increase, domestic prices may return to the threshold of 129,000 - 130,000 VND/kg in the next few days.
In the long term, experts say coffee prices will continue to be under upward pressure due to climate change, production costs and high demand from major markets such as Europe and the US. Consumers need to be prepared for fluctuations in coffee prices in the coming time.
