According to the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2024, economic diplomacy was carried out with a drastic and proactive spirit, opening up many new and breakthrough directions, achieving many important results, contributing more and more substantially and effectively to the implementation of socio-economic development goals.

In nearly 60 foreign affairs activities of key leaders in 2024, economic content has become the focus, bringing specific and substantial results. More than 170 cooperation agreements have been signed on the occasion of high-level activities. Through high-level and all-level exchanges, traditional growth drivers have been promoted and renewed through enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and labor with major markets and key and important investment partners, especially in Northeast Asia.

Actively promote international cooperation in science, technology and innovation, digital economy, green economy. Promote technology diplomacy, semiconductor diplomacy with key partners and leading technology corporations.

Promote market and partner diversification, continue to effectively exploit traditional markets, and vigorously implement breakthroughs in new and potential markets. Promote proactive roles, actively participate, and make substantial contributions to international and regional multilateral forums, contributing to enhancing the country's prestige and position, and attracting resources for development.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that economic diplomacy is an important driving force and must always be renewed. Especially driving forces such as calling for domestic and foreign investment, foreign and direct investment; having a mechanism to promote domestic consumption; building and maintaining brands; attracting more effective and substantial investment; developing a sustainable competitive market, diversifying markets, diversifying products; promoting diplomacy and expanding technological cooperation.

The Prime Minister suggested that in 2025, it is necessary to continue promoting economic diplomacy in high-level foreign affairs activities; develop specific plans, establish exchange mechanisms with partners to promote the implementation of high-level commitments and agreements that have been reached; create breakthroughs in economic, trade and investment relations; promote new growth drivers...
