Organize a talk show on "School Nutrition"

The Provincial Center for Disease Control organized 13 thematic talks at 13 schools in 4 districts: Muong Khuong, Bac Ha, Simacai, Bat Xat.

This is a program under Sub-Project 2, Project 3 "Improving nutrition" under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction by 2025.

Thematic talk activity held at Thao Chu Phin Primary Boarding School, Si Ma Cai district on the morning of May 30.

At the talks, teachers were informed by the reporter, an officer of the Department of Nutrition, Provincial Center for Disease Control, about the following contents: current situation of school nutrition and school nutrition program; prevention of micronutrient deficiency in the community; proper nutrition; nutrition and chronic non-communicable diseases related to malnutrition and overweight/obesity in school-age children.

The thematic talk aims to raise awareness, change behavior, create interest among all levels, sectors, parents, teachers, and caregivers about proper nutrition, chronic non-communicable diseases related to malnutrition and overweight/obesity in school-age children; contribute to improving nutritional status, preventing malnutrition, and enhancing the stature and intelligence of Lao Cai people.
