Swap plastic waste for trees to respond to World Environment Day June 5

Responding to World Environment Day (June 5) and the Month of Action for the Environment 2025, on the morning of June 1, at Nhac Son Park, Lao Cai city, the Provincial Urban Environment Joint Stock Company organized the program "Exchanging plastic waste for trees and organic fertilizers".

Hundreds of people in the area participated in the program, thereby contributing to spreading the message of environmentally friendly and civilized lifestyle of Lao Cai city residents.

From early morning, hundreds of people, union members and youths in the city were present, bringing plastic waste such as bottles, plastic boxes, and used packaging to exchange for green gifts such as ornamental plants, organic fertilizers and planting prices. These are products manufactured by Lao Cai Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, which are environmentally friendly and applicable in daily life.

In addition to the activity of exchanging trash for gifts, the program also incorporates propaganda through banners, leaflets, and the introduction of recycled products, etc. to raise people's awareness of sorting trash at the source and limiting the use of disposable plastic products. Participating in the program, Ms. Tran Thi Tuoi in Coc Leu ward said: "This program is very meaningful, especially in sending a clear message about the responsibility of protecting the environment to each person."

The program of exchanging plastic waste for trees of the Provincial Urban Environment Joint Stock Company will last until June 2025 and will be carried out, along with expanding communication on social networks, direct propaganda at traditional markets and residential areas in Lao Cai city.
