On the afternoon of April 24, the Provincial People's Court held a conference to review the court's work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Attending were leaders of the Provincial People's Court, Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice of the District and City People's Courts.
From October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, the two-level People's Court in the province accepted 1,268 cases; resolved and tried 807 cases of all kinds according to first-instance and appeal procedures, reaching 64%. Of which, the provincial level resolved and tried 113/202 cases; the district level resolved and tried 694/1,066 cases. Compared to the same period, the number of accepted cases decreased by 89 cases; the number of resolved cases increased by 206 cases. For criminal cases, accepted 463 cases with 797 defendants, resolved 349 cases with 548 defendants, reaching 75.4%; for civil, marriage and family, commercial and labor cases, accepted and tried 347 cases, reaching 51%; Administrative cases received and tried 3/13 cases, reaching 23%.
The application of administrative measures according to authority, the enforcement of criminal sentences and the exemption and reduction of State budget payments; the work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations continued to receive attention and were implemented in accordance with the provisions of law. The whole province successfully mediated 69 cases; people's assessors participated in the trial of 499 cases of all kinds. 13 trial sessions were organized to gain experience; 100% of petitions of all kinds were received and resolved. The litigation at the trial was carried out by the court units in accordance with the spirit of judicial reform and the provisions of procedural law.
In the last 6 months of the year, the two-level People's Courts continued to effectively implement the Code of Ethics and Conduct of Judges, the Regulations on handling responsibilities of judicial position holders in the People's Court, the Code of Conduct for officials and civil servants of the People's Court, and strictly implemented regulations on office culture; applied information technology, innovated administrative and judicial procedures; improved the quality of handling and adjudicating all types of cases, effectively implemented the principle of litigation in court, focused on dialogue and mediation; and organized well experience-sharing sessions.
On this occasion, the Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 28 individuals who excellently completed their tasks in the emulation movements of phase I/2024.
