On August 20, in Hanoi , the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Vietnam Association of Disabled Youth jointly organized a ceremony to honor 25 young people with disabilities in the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" in 2025.

The program aims to recognize young people with disabilities who have strived to overcome adversity, spread a positive spirit, and affirm meaningful contributions to the community.

Within the framework of the ceremony, outstanding disabled youths were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, logos and savings books worth 10 million VND sponsored by TCP Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized that every young person, regardless of their starting point, has within them the desire to live a useful life and contribute. However, for young people with disabilities, the journey is more difficult, requires more determination and even more sharing and encouragement from the community.

The 25 honored faces have proven a truth: Limits do not lie in physical disabilities, but in faith and will. You have overcome difficulties to study, establish careers, start businesses, participate in social activities, so that each step you take radiates determination, spreads faith and gives strength to millions of other young people.

Sharing her feelings as one of the youngest delegates to be honored this year, Nguyen Dieu Linh said, "I cannot write the song of life with the light of my eyes, but I can still sing the song of life with my heart - a heart that has gone through pain, grown up thanks to aspiration and resilience in the face of challenges." For Linh, the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" is like a fulcrum to look back on the journey she has gone through.

There, Linh found the opportunity to cherish the past, live fully in the present and nurture more strength for the future. Dieu Linh believes that, like her, many other disabled youth will feel the trust from the program: no matter who they are, where they come from, as long as they live with love and strength, everyone can shine.

The faces honored this year come from many different regions and professions, but all have the will to overcome difficulties and the desire to contribute.

We can mention Do Thi Hien Giang - a student of Business Administration (Hanoi University of Commerce, born in 2003), is one of the youngest delegates.

Although still in school, Giang has achieved many excellent academic achievements and actively participated in volunteer activities, affirming his sense of responsibility and dedication.

Dinh Viet Tuong (born in 2002, Quang Tri) has a physical and mental disability but does not let it stop him. With his love for music , Tuong has become an artist and content creator loved by hundreds of thousands of young people. Tuong's narrative songs and positive videos on TikTok have touched the hearts of many people.

Le Thi Xuan (born in 1990, Ninh Binh ) has been disabled in her legs since childhood and has to walk with a brace, but she has made an effort to become an IT lecturer and open free training classes for the disabled. Xuan also adopted an abandoned baby.

Or Pham Tuan Hung (born in 2002, Quang Ninh) lost his legs in an accident when he was only two years old but he has shined in sports. In 2023, Hung won the Gold Medal at the National Para Swimming Championship and was called up to the national team for the ASEAN Para Games...

These stories are vivid proof of the power of will, affirming that people with disabilities not only overcome adversity, but also spread positive energy to the community and strongly inspire the young generation of Vietnam.

The program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" was first launched in 2013, on the occasion of speaker Nick Vujicic's visit to Vietnam, with the goal of inspiring positive living for disabled youth.

Since 2020, the Program has been implementing Directive 39-CT/TW of the Secretariat and Decision 1190/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on supporting people with disabilities.

To date, the program has made a strong impression: more than 275 outstanding examples of disabled youth at the central level have been honored.

They are brave people who overcome their disabilities, not only nurturing their will to live but also making positive contributions to the community and society./.
