VNPT's wifi internet speed is the fastest in Vietnam for 2 consecutive months

Data from i-Speed shows that not only is VNPT 's wifi internet the fastest in Vietnam, it also continuously increases its speed every month. If in December 2024, VNPT's internet download speed was 140Mbps, upload speed was 111.88Mbps, then in January 2025, this network's internet download speed reached 181.56Mbps, upload speed reached 137.77Mbps. Compared to the network in second place, VNPT's wifi internet speed is 1.5 times higher.

This result is the effort of VNPT in continuously upgrading infrastructure, optimizing the system and proactively increasing Internet speed up to 3 times, simultaneously for all customers in early December 2024, especially with unchanged prices. This move is part of the roadmap to accompany the development of national information and communication infrastructure of VNPT Group, aiming for the goal of 100% of households nationwide to have access to fiber optic internet by 2025. Currently, VNPT is also the network operator with the largest fiber optic internet market share in Vietnam with nearly 10 million subscribers nationwide.

VNPT's fastest internet speed in Vietnam also comes from the strategy of deploying XGSPON technology and network in recent times. This is an advanced transmission generation, the first to possess symmetrical bandwidth, supporting maximum upload and download speeds of up to 10Gbps. Compared to the old GPON technology, XGSPON speed increases up to 4 times in the download direction and 8 times in the upload direction, minimizing latency, bringing breakthrough Internet quality, unprecedented in Vietnam.

According to information from VNPT, the super XGSPON technology has been deployed in most provinces and cities nationwide. With the new internet speed and technology platform, customers can enhance their experience when using 4K, 8K content, livestreaming, AR gaming, VR, online learning and online conferences.

VNPT plans to continue improving wifi internet bandwidth speed to enhance customer experience with many attractive incentives when using this network's services. It is expected that VNPT will soon launch new packages with a minimum speed of 300Mbps, expand XGSPON coverage and add more options to integrate entertainment TV, mesh wifi, new generation security cameras to help customers comprehensively upgrade their "digital home".

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW identifies breakthroughs in science , technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, and sets specific goals for 2030 and a vision for 2045. VNPT has continuously strived and innovated in scientific and technical activities, improving the quality of telecommunications and information technology services.

In the spirit of the Resolution, science - technology - innovation and digital transformation are considered the "backbone" of the modernization process, contributing to realizing the aspiration of making Vietnam a developed, high-income country, in which, promoting investment in new generation telecommunications networks is one of the decisive conditions.

“Digital infrastructure” and “ultra-broadband” are always the keywords emphasized many times in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to show the importance of investment and transmission speed, playing a decisive role in digital transformation anywhere and any unit, from individual citizens to businesses, ministries, departments and branches of the Government.

Wide coverage and high-speed wifi internet lines help users easily connect to artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, supporting the construction of smart cities for centrally-run cities and some provinces and cities with sufficient conditions. Digital transformation activities will be difficult to carry out without high-speed wifi internet lines.
