In the last days of October, the Central region suffered from historic floods, severely affecting the lives of people in Hue City and Da Nang. In this situation, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation urgently activated the natural disaster prevention and information response plan, mobilizing human resources and means to ensure the safety of telecommunications infrastructure and maintain smooth communication for people in the affected areas.

Faced with the complicated developments of the floods, the working group of the Flood and Storm Prevention Command of the MobiFone Network Center in the Central Region (TT MLMT) quickly moved from Da Nang to Hue to organize rescue, inspection, coordination and direction of communication assurance work in the area. At the same time, the Center continues to closely coordinate with units to promptly handle points affected by signal loss, maintain safety and network quality to serve people in the area.
MobiFone continues to closely monitor the flood response in the Central region. In Hue and Da Nang, many MobiFone stores and branches have temporarily suspended operations due to deep flooding. Technicians, transaction officers and logistics staff remain at the location, ready to coordinate rescue and restore services when weather conditions permit.
Along with infrastructure protection and information security, MobiFone also closely coordinates with authorities to proactively send warning messages and provide guidance on storm prevention, flash flood and flood response skills to people in high-risk areas, contributing to raising public awareness and minimizing risks and damage caused by natural disasters.
Up to now, MobiFone staff at "hot spots" are still working day and night to maintain safe connections, ensuring stable communication to serve the government, rescue forces and people in the flood-affected areas, effectively serving the management and command of functional agencies.

To ensure communication, VNPT has coordinated with other network operators to open roaming in Hue and some areas of Da Nang.
Due to the impact of heavy rain and floods, the optical fiber cable on the Ho Chi Minh trail suffered cable breaks at many points. Despite the heavy rain and floods, VNPT's on-site technical team was ready to handle the situation and respond.
Immediately after the rain stopped and the flood passed, although VNPT's headquarters was also flooded, VNPT's on-site technical staff were working hard to both urgently clean up computers, files, and protect assets at the headquarters while also making efforts to protect and maintain the safety of the telecommunications network to ensure the best possible service quality for customers. The technical staff were on duty 24/7 at the stations to promptly handle machinery, equipment, switchboards, deploy rescue equipment, materials, and transfer fuel to telecommunications stations in deeply flooded areas.
Up to now, VNPT representative said that they are urgently monitoring the flood situation closely, the spirit is to restore the network as the flood recedes. Currently, the damaged fiber optic cable on the Ho Chi Minh trail (sections such as Da Nang - Phuoc Son, Phuoc Son - Dak To and Hien - A Luoi) has also been basically handled. The network operator is also maintaining thousands of generators at mobile broadcasting stations to ensure the best communication network for the people. However, many areas are still deeply flooded and have landslides, so rescue work in some areas is still extremely difficult.

In Hue, up to now, due to widespread power outages in many places, at VNPT's mobile charging points in Hue City, Phong Dien, Huong Tra, Quang Dien communes... there are still many people coming to charge their batteries at VNPT headquarters for communication support.
