General Secretary To Lam received the Chairman of the BSP Party and representatives of left-wing parties in Bulgaria.

The General Secretary affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches importance to continuing to strengthen relations with the BSP and Bulgarian left-wing parties, considering this an inseparable part of the Vietnam-Bulgaria relationship.

According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, on the afternoon of October 23 (local time), in the capital Sofia, General Secretary To Lam received Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Atanas Zafirov and representatives of Bulgarian left-wing parties.

Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Atanas Zafirov warmly welcomed General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Bulgaria; expressed his good feelings for the country and people of Vietnam and admired the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; emphasized that General Secretary To Lam's visit with the upgrading of relations to a strategic partnership is a historic turning point in the relationship between the two countries; affirmed that the Bulgarian Socialist Party and Bulgarian left-wing parties always support strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam thanked the Chairman of the BSP and leaders of Bulgarian left-wing parties for their deep friendship with the delegation; affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches importance to continuing to strengthen relations with the BSP and Bulgarian left-wing parties, considering this an inseparable part of the Vietnam-Bulgaria relationship.

On this occasion, the General Secretary thanked the Bulgarian communists and people for their valuable support and assistance to the cause of national liberation and development of Vietnam; and wished to continue strengthening cooperation between the two Parties to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.

Appreciating the role and position of the BSP and left-wing parties as a prestigious political force in Bulgarian politics, as well as the prestige of Chairman Atanas Zafirov, who is holding the important position of Deputy Prime Minister in the ruling coalition government, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam wishes to promote friendly relations and good cooperation with Bulgarian political parties, including the BSP and left-wing parties in Bulgaria, to consolidate the political foundation for the strategic partnership between the two countries to develop strongly in the future.

The two sides agreed to strengthen political dialogue, promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones, in accordance with the new framework of the relationship; promote cooperation between agencies of the two Parties, step up theoretical exchanges such as organizing scientific seminars and forums; strengthen cooperation in training cadres, fostering political theory, and enhancing youth exchanges to continue the tradition of friendly relations...

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam invited BSP Party Chairman Atanas Zafirov to lead a high-ranking Party delegation to soon visit Vietnam./.
