The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just issued a decision recognizing 15 products as having achieved 3 and 4-star certification under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, phase 1, 2025.

All the OCOP products recognized in this round belong to the 4-star and 3-star rated food groups; specifically, cashew nuts have 10 products, of which 6 are assessed as having the potential to be rated 5 stars.

Notably, six cashew products that received a 4-star rating have the potential to be rated 5 stars, including: plain cashews (unsalted dried cashews); peeled cashews (roasted with salt); skinless cashews (roasted with salt); peeled cashews with Himalayan pink salt; skinless cashews with Himalayan pink salt; and a set of five flavored cashew products.

These products belong to Gia Bao Group Joint Stock Company ( Binh Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai Province).

In addition, three cashew products from Golden Cashew Company (Phu Rieng commune) have been recognized as 4-star OCOP products: chocolate-roasted cashews; coffee-roasted cashews; and cheese-roasted cashews.

Six products received the OCOP 3-star certification.

According to the decision, products that achieve the above star rating will be granted a certificate by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, and will be allowed to use the OCOP brand and the achieved star rating, printed on the product packaging as prescribed.

The results of the evaluation, scoring, ranking, and certification of OCOP products are valid for 36 months.

Thus, to date, Dong Nai province has 496 products certified with OCOP 3, 4, and 5 stars; of which, 8 products have achieved OCOP 5-star certification, 50 products have OCOP 4-star certification, and the rest are OCOP 3-star products.

Dong Nai province is considered the "cashew capital," with an area of 176 hectares, accounting for more than 50% of the country's cashew growing area and over 50% of its cashew production; cashew export revenue is approximately 2 billion USD (accounting for 50% of the country's total export revenue).
