The Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to recognize 15 products that have achieved 3 and 4 star certification under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, phase 1, 2025.
All OCOP products recognized this time are in the 4-star and 3-star food groups; cashew nuts alone have 10 products, of which 6 are rated with 5-star potential.
Notably, there are 6 cashew products rated 4 stars with 5-star potential, including: original cashews (dried cashews without salt); shelled cashews (roasted with salt); shelled cashews (roasted with salt); shelled cashews with Himalayan pink salt; shelled cashews with Himalayan pink salt; and a set of 5 flavored cashews.
These products belong to Gia Bao Group Joint Stock Company ( Binh Phuoc ward, Dong Nai province).
In addition, there are 3 cashew products of Vang Cashew Company (Phu Rieng commune) recognized as 4-star OCOP including: Chocolate roasted cashews; Coffee roasted cashews; Cheese roasted cashews.
There are 6 products with 3-star OCOP certification.
According to the decision, products achieving the above star rating will be granted a certificate by the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, will be allowed to use the OCOP trademark and the achieved star rating, printed on product packaging according to regulations.
The results of evaluation, scoring, classification and certification of OCOP products above are valid for 36 months.
Thus, up to now, in Dong Nai province, there are 496 products certified with 3, 4 and 5 star OCOP; of which, 8 products have received 5 star OCOP certification, 50 products have 4 star OCOP, and the rest are 3 star OCOP products.
Dong Nai province is considered the "capital" of cashew, with an area of 176 hectares, accounting for more than 50% of the area and more than 50% of the cashew output of the whole country; cashew export turnover is about 2 billion USD (accounting for 50% of the country's export turnover)./.
