General Secretary To Lam receives Permanent Vice President of Venezuela

On the afternoon of October 29, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, Permanent Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, member of the Politburo of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed the visit of Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; highly appreciated the results of the exchange and talks between Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez and President Luong Cuong and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, expressing his belief that the visit will contribute significantly to consolidating and further strengthening the good traditional relationship between the two parties and two countries.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always respects and is grateful for the solidarity and support that the Venezuelan people have given Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense. The General Secretary highly appreciated the important achievements that Venezuela has made in recent times, and the role and position of the PSUV and the ruling coalition in Venezuela.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam discussed the achievements of 40 years of renovation, affirming that Vietnam will continue its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, being a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community, valuing relations with traditional friends and progressive forces in the world. The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam wishes to promote friendly relations and cooperation between countries in the world, supporting efforts to strengthen the peaceful environment in the world.

Regarding bilateral relations, General Secretary To Lam agreed with the cooperation proposals, expressed his hope for new developments after the visit, and suggested that both sides strengthen political trust through exchanges and meetings at all levels, especially at high levels, and enhance cooperation between the two parties, especially in exchanging experiences, theories, and supporting each other in party building in the coming time. General Secretary To Lam suggested that both sides promote the implementation of cooperation plans, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs, continue to support and cooperate at multilateral forums and organizations, and on regional and international issues of mutual concern, for the benefit of the people of both countries, for peace, cooperation, and development of the two regions and the world.

Permanent Vice President Delcy Rodriguez Gomez respectfully thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to receive the delegation, expressed his honor and impression to visit Vietnam again, and conveyed the congratulations of the President and Chairman of the PSUV to General Secretary To Lam for the important responsibilities assigned by the Party and people of Vietnam. Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez highly appreciated the heroic Communist Party of Vietnam for successfully leading the Vietnamese people in the cause of resistance and national construction; shared that the Venezuelan people always admire President Ho Chi Minh, the will for independence and the spirit of innovation of the Communist Party and people of Vietnam, affirming that President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam are a great source of encouragement and motivation for the people and the PSUV.

At the meeting, Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez discussed the achievements that the PSUV and the Venezuelan people have achieved in the past, in the context of facing many difficulties and challenges. Regarding the relationship between the two parties and the two countries, Comrade Delcy Rodriguez Gomez expressed his joy at the positive developments in the relationship between the two sides in the past time, wishing to have a plan and roadmap to promote the relationship, take advantage of potential areas such as energy, agriculture and tourism, and at the same time strengthen and consolidate the relationship between the two parties in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Permanent Vice President of Venezuela expressed his wish to welcome General Secretary To Lam to visit Venezuela; General Secretary To Lam thanked the invitation and assigned the agencies of both sides to arrange and convey his warm regards and invitation to the President of the PSUV, President Nicolas Maduro, to visit Vietnam again.
