General Secretary To Lam and his wife leave for an official visit to the Republic of Finland

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb, on October 20, 2025, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi for an official visit to the Republic of Finland from October 20-22, 2025.

The official delegation included comrades: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs ; Pham Gia Tuc, Party Central Committee member, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Party Central Committee member, Head of the Party Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Commission; Nguyen Manh Hung, Party Central Committee member, Minister of Science and Technology; Nguyen Hong Dien, Party Central Committee member, Minister of Industry and Trade; Tran Duc Thang, Party Central Committee member, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Vo Van Dung, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee for Internal Affairs; Bui Thi Quynh Van, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee for Organization; To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary, in charge of the General Secretary's Office; Pham Thi Thanh Binh, Ambassador of Vietnam to Finland.

This is the first visit by a General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Finland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973.

Following the vibrant high-level foreign affairs activities since the beginning of the year, General Secretary To Lam's visit to Finland is a clear demonstration of the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness, and comprehensive and extensive international integration, and is also an important foreign affairs activity to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation./.
