In the period of 2021-2025, key activities on culture, literature, art, and journalism of the Army have become a series of major cultural events of the entire army, implemented synchronously by agencies and units, in the right direction, with the right goals and requirements, and achieved good results, spreading, creating a strong impression in the social life and cultural and spiritual life of the army. Cultural and artistic activities have many innovations, richness, and creativity; creating and promoting a large number of literary, artistic, and journalistic works with quality content, ideology, and art.

In the field of literature, the works created, invested in, and promoted in the past 5 years have focused on praising the glorious tradition of the People's Armed Forces in the cause of fighting, building, and defending the Fatherland, vividly depicting the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era. Thereby, affirming the position and role of Army literature in Vietnamese literature.

Colonel, writer Nguyen Binh Phuong, Editor-in-Chief of the Army Literature Magazine, commented: “Currently, with new mission requirements, the role and position of the Armed Forces as well as the image and qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers have changed, therefore, requiring a new and more suitable artistic sense to accurately portray. And in fact, a new literary appearance is being formed on the subject of the Armed Forces and revolutionary war from a generation of young writers in and outside the Army.”

In the field of journalism, press agencies in the Army have always performed well in their role of leading and orienting public opinion, raising awareness among soldiers and people about building the Army, strengthening national defense, and protecting the Fatherland; actively propagating the position and role of the Army in building a "people's heart position" associated with building and strengthening the all-people national defense and an increasingly solid people's war position. The Army press has always accompanied the country, making important contributions on the ideological-cultural front, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation; being a sharp weapon in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, protecting the interests of the nation and the people; promoting well the role as an important bridge between the Party, the State, the Army, the people and international friends.

Discussing the contributions of the Army press in the past 5 years, Colonel Le Ngoc Long, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, said: "Implementing the motto of closely combining "building" and "fighting", the Army press has always affirmed its role as an official and important information channel in propagating and clarifying the revolutionary and scientific values ​​of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought. Promote the effectiveness of cultural institutions in the unit

One of the key activities in culture, literature, arts, and journalism in the Army over the past 5 years is to implement the Planning of the cultural institution system in the Vietnam People's Army for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 of the Ministry of National Defense.

Looking back over the past 5 years, the system of cultural institutions in the entire army has been invested in, consolidated and improved in quality of operations. The entire army has unified all types of cultural institutions at all levels, especially the system of cultural houses at all levels; the system of traditional rooms (houses), Ho Chi Minh rooms, libraries, reading rooms, and common rooms have been planned synchronously and uniformly. Cultural institutions in the entire army have been consolidated in terms of organization, staffing, barracks and regulations to meet the quality of operations, initially ensuring regularity, compactness, unity and reasonable structure. Regimes, norms and standards of cultural and spiritual life for soldiers have been ensured by agencies and units to be correct, sufficient and timely.

Discussing further about promoting the effectiveness of cultural institutions in units, Colonel Vu Anh Tuan, Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, said: "The entire Navy maintains the operating routine of cultural institutions, contributing to serving the needs of sightseeing, studying, and enjoying culture and spirit of officers, soldiers, and people. Based on the opinions of agencies and units in the entire army, in his concluding remarks at the conference, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To affirmed: Over the past 5 years, the movement to create and promote literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme of the armed forces and revolutionary war has always affirmed itself as the strength of literature, art and journalism in the Army, contributing to the building and development of Vietnam's revolutionary literature and art in the new period. Literature and art in the Army in recent times has refined, preserved and transmitted the most basic and typical features of the qualities, images and figures of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the struggles for national independence, defending the Fatherland, in fulfilling the noble international duty as well as in peacetime in building and developing the country. Literary and artistic works on the subject of the armed forces and revolutionary war, and military press works in key activities have contributed to improving the cultural and spiritual life of soldiers, educating, fostering, and building confidence and courage for officers and soldiers, especially the younger generation; at the same time, contributing to consolidating, building, and developing foreign defense activities; especially, making an important contribution to the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation, combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and maintaining the Party's ideological position in the Army.
