The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that due to a large forest fire in Abay province, Kazakhstan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will postpone his official visit to Vietnam scheduled from June 11-13. The President wishes to make the visit at another suitable time.

Kazakhstan media reported that a forest fire is raging in the Abay region. The country is trying to mobilize people and equipment to extinguish the fire. Residents of three villages have been evacuated to safety. A total of 167 people, 47 pieces of equipment, and 3 helicopters are deployed to fight the fire.
The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has ordered Emergency Situations Minister Yuri Ilyin to urgently go to the scene and direct the rescue work, the office of the President of Kazakhstan said. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there have been some casualties.
