Russia-Ukraine war today, November 3, 2024: Ukraine's commander-in-chief admitted the situation was like "fish on the chopping board" when the Russian army won consecutive victories in Donetsk.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), General Alexander Syrsky, reported on the attacks of the Russian military on his personal Telegram channel. He noted that this attack by the Russian side is the strongest since the start of the Special Military Operation (SVO).
According to the AFU Commander-in-Chief, the situation on the front line “continues to be difficult” for Ukrainian units.

Ukrainian analysts admit Russian armed forces are advancing on multiple fronts
Ukrainian analytical source DeepState claimed on its Telegram channel that the Russian army is advancing on six areas of the front at the same time.
According to DeepState data, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing into the settlements of Novoukrainka and Bogoyavlenka north of Ugledar, Konstantinovka and Pobeda, as well as in the Novodmitrovka area in Donetsk.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that several settlements have changed hands.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed information about the Russian military's advance in the northwestern region. Thus, from October 26 to November 1, soldiers of the Vostok group took control of the villages of Shakhterskoye, Dobrovolye, Novoukrainka and Yasnaya Polyana.
In addition, there is information about the capture of the village of Pershotravnevoe in the Kharkov region and the village of Kurakhovka in the Donetsk region. Control over the first group was established by the troops of the Western Operational Group, and over the second - by the Central Operational Group.
Russian State Duma announces SVO's turning point
Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Yury Shvytkin announced the Russian army's progress in the Northern Military District. Mr. Shvytkin believes that the current situation is a turning point in the conflict.
“ We can responsibly say that a turning point has occurred. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are intensifying offensive operations against the enemy in various directions,” said Yury Shvytkin.
Russian forces are currently pushing the enemy out of the settlements. Mr Shvytkin added that every settlement that changes hands is very important.
Military experts assess the Russian army's accelerated offensive move
Military expert, Colonel of the Reserve Army 1st Rank, Vasily Dandykin noted that the advance of the Russian army in the Northern Military District has accelerated significantly.
“ Every day the army takes control of more and more new settlements, we push the enemy to the border of the Donetsk region. We are moving away from attacks on Donetsk itself ,” Mr. Dandykin pointed out.
“ All the victories of our army are not easy ,” said expert Vasily Dandykin. The Russian army is dealing with a prepared enemy who, despite its lack of resources, continues to resist.
South Donetsk crumbles
The Military Summary channel reported that the AFU had collapsed south of Donetsk. Meanwhile, the Russians had taken control of the next village, Maksymivka. Pressure was also being exerted in the direction of Kurakhovo, where the Russians were attacking south of Maksymilianivka.
Most of the breakthroughs and capture of terrain took place on the flank of Selidovo, where the Russian army advanced to the south, but also simultaneously encircled from the opposite direction.
In the direction of Kupyansk, the Russian army successfully took control of the village of Pershotravneve after several days of raids. The most surprising report coming from Volchansk was that the Russian side had expanded the area of control in the town.
Kurakhovo is like "fish on the chopping board"
Readovka channel reported that the most notable event of the past week was the Russian army's repeated successful practice of semi-encirclement tactics in Donbass, forcing the enemy to abandon their positions and flee if they did not want to suffer heavy losses in vain.
Russia's victories were recorded from the field, especially in just one day, the Russian side gained control of two cities at the same time, Selidovo and Gornyak, and then the city of Kurakhovka was also quickly destroyed.
Behind those successes were tactics that had been formed, clearly proven effective, and were also the reason why the fortifications of the Kiev forces were repeatedly breached, leading to mass collapse.
RVvoenkory channel confirmed that AFU is in the most difficult moment around Kurakhovo when the opponent massively penetrates from all sides.
The DeepState channel itself, which is affiliated with the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate, admits: " Recently, Russian pressure on Kurakhove has been increasing with new thrusts that threaten the logistics of the city. To achieve this, the RFAF has deployed a large amount of resources. In particular, they are actively attacking the area east of Kurakhove through Maksimilianovka, entering the eastern outskirts of the city. In parallel, attempts to break through the Ostrovsky area continue."
