The 51-year-old Danish tactician will replace Ange Postecoglou - who was sacked after winning the Europa League with Spurs.

Tottenham quickly identified Thomas Frank as their main target. Therefore, the London team decided to pay 10 million pounds in compensation to force Brentford to release him.

Frank himself also gave the green light for the above deal, because he considered this a new step in his coaching career in the Premier League.

Tottenham "picked up" Brentford's coaching staff, including assistant Justin Cochrane, analyst Joe Newton and Chris Haslam.

A statement on Spurs' website read: "Thomas Frank has extensive English football experience having managed Brentford since 2016.

During his time there, he transformed the club, taking it from relative obscurity to a formidable Premier League contender, consistently exceeding expectations over a long period of time.

In Thomas, we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches in the game ..."

It is known that Thomas Frank took over Brentford in 2018 after two years as assistant. Last season, he and The Bees ranked 10th in the Premier League.
