Tottenham meet Man Utd in Europa League final

Tottenham Hotspur scored two second-half goals to ease into an all-English UEFA Europa League final, as they ended Bodo/Glimt's fairytale run 5-1 on aggregate.

On a wet and drizzly night in Norway, Tottenham were not shy about playing away against the "dark horse" of the tournament. Ange Postecoglou's team took the initiative to attack right from the opening whistle, Richarlison had an effort blocked in the second minute.

However, the home side soon regained control and pushed Tottenham back into a defensive counter-attacking game. The first-leg defeat forced Bodo/Glimt to attack in search of a goal, Ole Didrik Blomberg escaped a corner, but his shot from a tight angle went wide.

However, neither Bodo/Glimt nor Tottenham could make a breakthrough in the first half, with neither side creating clear-cut chances, each managing just one shot on target. Goalkeepers Pedro Porro and Guglielmo Vicario had to remain focused, but neither faced any real danger.

After the break, Bodo/Glimt continued to control the game, Kjetil Knutsen's students continued to apply pressure in a rather messy way, so they were not strong enough to penetrate Tottenham's defense. Tottenham players also had some counter-attacks, but they were not sharp enough to create a turning point for the match.

In the 58th minute, Destiny Udogie helped the defence by clearing Fredrik Andra Bjorkan's pass right in front of the opposition's boot at close range. The importance of that intervention was underlined five minutes later when Tottenham silenced the home crowd with Dominic Solanke's opener. The Englishman tapped in from close range after Cristian Romero had headed in from a corner.

Tottenham quickly sealed the fate of this match with a second goal. In the 69th minute, Pedro Porro made a cross from the right, the ball went deep and hit the edge of the left post and bounced into the net. The goal was quite surprising for the player who scored. The Bodo/Glimt players quickly went from surprise to disappointment, because with a gap of 4 goals, their hopes of going through were gone.

With a 5-1 aggregate victory, Tottenham will be in the European Cup final for the 6th time in history. Now, Coach Postecoglou and his team are just one win away from ending a long-standing title drought and possibly brightening up the gloomy domestic season. The Europa League final will take place at Estadio San Mames (Spain) at 2am on May 22.
