Pho Yen City: Allocating over 6 billion VND to implement poverty reduction work

Implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, in 2024, Pho Yen City will allocate over 6 billion VND to support the construction, development, and replication of production and business development models to create jobs, sustainable livelihoods, and increase income for poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped-poverty households. Of which, the central budget is over 5.3 billion VND, and the local budget is 800 million VND.

With a preferential loan of 50 million VND, Ms. Pham Thi Hong Sinh's family in Hamlet 1, Phuc Tan Commune (Pho Yen City) invested in economic development.

From this source of capital, the City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to directly guide and direct the implementation of projects: Developing vocationaleducation ; diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models; communicating poverty reduction; supporting sustainable employment... In particular, the locality has allocated a budget of more than 2 billion VND to implement the project of diversifying livelihoods, with a model of raising cows and buffaloes in Tien Phong ward and Thanh Cong commune.

During the implementation process, the city also requires specialized agencies to regularly coordinate, inspect, urge, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles that arise to ensure that projects are implemented on schedule and effectively. Thereby, creating a strong change in awareness and action in sustainable poverty reduction; arousing the people's will to self-reliantly rise out of poverty.

Pho Yen City currently has 769 poor households and more than 1,160 near-poor households. The city strives to reduce 301 poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard by the end of 2024.
