50 years ago, under the wise and talented leadership of the Party, implementing the strategic determination of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission and the General Command, with the spirit of "Speed, boldness, sure victory", "One day equals 20 years", the army and people of the whole country heroically overcame all hardships and sacrifices, creating the Great Victory of Spring 1975; fully implementing the guiding ideology of President Ho Chi Minh "Fight to drive out the Americans, fight to overthrow the puppets", liberating the South, unifying the country, gloriously ending the long, arduous and great resistance war in the history of our nation against foreign invaders. Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, with an iron will and unshakable determination, our army and people overcame countless hardships and sacrifices, writing one of the most heroic pages of the nation's history, an event of international stature and profound contemporary significance.

In the solemn atmosphere of the Anniversary, leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, leaders of Tra Vinh province through the periods and all delegates respectfully remembered and expressed their infinite gratitude to beloved President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader, Hero of National Liberation, World Cultural Celebrity, Outstanding Cultural Man of Vietnam, who has made our nation and our country glorious; recorded and expressed gratitude for the great contributions of generations of revolutionary predecessors, the boundless sacrifices of heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and families with meritorious services to the revolution.
In his speech at the Commemoration Ceremony, Party Central Committee member and Tra Vinh Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong said that during the resistance war against the US to save the country, Tra Vinh was a key area of control, suppression and pacification by the US - puppet regime. The people lived in misery, but that only fueled our people's desire for peace and independence, further clarifying the truth that "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom"; "We would rather sacrifice everything than lose our country, and absolutely refuse to be slaves" according to President Ho Chi Minh's call; that has become a sacred command and the reason of every Tra Vinh person, standing up together to fight against the invading imperialists and their lackeys.

Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the people of all ethnic groups in the province fought the enemy while building and developing revolutionary forces according to the motto "not an inch away, not a millimeter away"; "The Party sticks to the people, the people stick to the land, the guerrillas stick to the enemy" , each commune and hamlet became a battlefield, each patriot was a soldier... creating a people's war, all-people, all-out, to drive out the invaders.
The highlight is that from after Mau Than 1968 to 1972, the army and people of Tra Vinh steadfastly held on to defend the land, maintained the "comb-toothed" position, protected the resistance base area and developed the resistance base, made great efforts to develop forces, maintained the offensive position and created opportunities, destroyed all intentions of the US - puppet in this land; at the same time, maintained an important link of the "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea" which contributed significantly to bringing necessary support from the great rear in the North to the Southwest, contributing with the whole South to win the strategic offensive in 1972.
In particular, in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, under the direct leadership of the Party Committee, on the morning of April 30, 1975, in Tra Vinh, the forces coordinated and simultaneously attacked, disintegrating the enemy army, forcing the Provincial Governor to surrender. At 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam flew in front of the Administrative Building and the Provincial Governor's Palace; Tra Vinh province was completely liberated on April 30, 1975, at the same time as the liberation of Saigon, contributing with the whole country to the Great Spring Victory of completely liberating the South and unifying the country.
After the liberation day, Tra Vinh was faced with many difficulties; the material and spiritual life of the people was lacking, and social infrastructure seemed insignificant. Inheriting and promoting the tradition of the heroic homeland of Tra Vinh, together with the whole country, the Party Committee and people of Tra Vinh embarked on the task of healing the wounds of war, building and developing the homeland.
Tra Vinh Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong delivered a speech at the Commemoration Ceremony.
After 50 years of liberation, 125 years of establishment of the province and 33 years of re-establishment of the province, under the leadership of the Party, the management and administration of the State and the efforts of the entire Party Committee, the province's socio-economic situation has been gradually restored and developed. Up to now, the scale of the economy has reached 96,622 billion VND. Budget revenue has reached and exceeded the set plan, domestic revenue for the whole period increased by an average of 20%/year; in 1992, total domestic revenue reached 32.4 billion VND, by the end of 2024, total domestic revenue reached 6,530 billion VND, nearly 200 times higher than in 1992.

Transport infrastructure is developed; Socio-economic infrastructure is invested in, gradually synchronized and modernized; the development space of the province is increasingly expanded, potentials and advantages are increasingly exploited effectively, especially the potentials of marine economy, green energy, renewable energy, etc.
The lives of people in the province are increasingly improved and enhanced; social security is guaranteed. The average GRDP per capita by 2024 will reach 94.4 million VND/person/year. The work of caring for and protecting people's health has made much progress; 100% of communes, wards and towns have health stations and meet the national criteria for commune health.
In particular, since 2010, implementing the Party's policy on new rural construction, Tra Vinh has focused on mobilizing social resources and budget capital, determined to successfully build new rural areas.
Initially, with a rather low starting point, the whole province had 24 communes and 52 hamlets with special difficulties under the Government's Program 135; only 2/85 communes met 8 criteria, the remaining communes met 7 criteria or less, on average, the province only met 4.9 criteria/commune... But with the support from central agencies, the solidarity and strong determination of the entire political system, after more than 13 years of implementation, the whole province had 100% of communes meeting new rural standards, 60% of communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 10.6% of communes meeting model new rural standards, 100% of district-level units were recognized to meet standards and complete new rural tasks, with 2 districts meeting advanced new rural standards (Tieu Can, Cau Ke).

With that result, Tra Vinh was honored to be recognized by the Prime Minister as a province that completed the task of building new rural areas in 2024, the 6th province in the country and the first province in the Southwest region to be recognized as completing the task of building new rural areas.
On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Tra Vinh - Thai Binh twinning relationship, the leaders of Tra Vinh province would like to thank the Party Committee, Government and People of Thai Binh for always supporting Tra Vinh during the years of resistance to build and develop their homeland, especially providing nearly 300 human resources in the education sector for Cuu Long province (currently Tra Vinh, Vinh Long). These cadres and teachers are an important force, contributing to the province in overcoming the consequences of war, consolidating and developing the education cause. After the liberation day, many children of Thai Binh chose Tra Vinh to develop their careers, work creatively, and actively contribute to the construction and development of Tra Vinh province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri praised the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Tra Vinh province in the past time; especially in the two resistance wars to protect the Fatherland, the army and people of Tra Vinh fought bravely, setting a shining example for the whole country and were praised by Uncle Ho.

Continuing the achievements in the past and today, the Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court hopes that the Party Committee and people of Tra Vinh will continue to promote the province's potential strengths, focus on economic development, with a focus on digital economy, green economy, circular economy; develop green and clean energy; focus on implementing social security policies, especially policies for ethnic minorities, religious policies, building national solidarity; continue to build a position of people's hearts and continue to do well in Party rectification, preventing and combating corruption and waste. Especially implementing the Party's resolutions on streamlining and arranging the 2-level government apparatus effectively; focusing on personnel work so that the apparatus can operate to serve the people well.
On behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of Tra Vinh province, Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Ngo Chi Cuong affirmed his determination to maintain deep faith in the glorious Party and great Uncle Ho. The entire Party Committee, people and army of Tra Vinh province are steadfast in the goal of national independence and socialism chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho; strongly promoting the fine traditions of the nation, of our ancestors and the identity of the Tra Vinh people who are righteous, courageous, simple, open, creative and responsible... steadily moving forward under the Party's flag, overcoming all difficulties and challenges. Further tightening and promoting the solidarity between Tra Vinh and its sister provinces, including Thai Binh, especially with the newly merged provinces... to support and help each other develop together.

On this occasion, the leaders of Thai Binh province also presented 5 billion VND to Tra Vinh province to carry out social security work.
