Workshop on Responsible Business in the Global Green Economy in Da Nang

At the plenary session, experts and managers presented and discussed topics related to the green economy , responsible business practices aimed at sustainable development, and global trends; the policy framework and strategies for developing the green economy and responsible business practices towards sustainable development in Vietnam, and tools to promote implementation (the Provincial Green Index - PGI and the Corporate Sustainability Index - CSI); and the International Labour Organization (ILO) support program for responsible business practices and building harmonious labor relations contributing to sustainable development in Vietnam and the world.

At the same time, domestic and international experts also shared experiences, recommendations, and commitments with the business community to practice responsible business practices and move towards a green economy.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stated that the international workshop "Responsible Business Practices in the Global Green Economy" contributes to raising the sense of responsibility of businesses in complying with the law in their business operations, proactively minimizing negative impacts on people, the environment and society in the "global green" trend in various fields.

This is not only a moral responsibility but also an inevitable trend, helping to enhance the competitiveness of businesses in the context of Vietnam in general, and Da Nang city in particular, integrating more deeply into the international economy.

The workshop also provides an important opportunity for agencies, organizations, and the business community to access and exchange ideas with domestic and international partners and experts with extensive experience in responsible business management and practices. This will enable them to research and implement innovative and appropriate solutions within the city and region, especially at a time when Da Nang is implementing new development models such as a Free Trade Zone and an International Financial Center.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested the Da Nang City Union of Friendship Organizations and relevant departments and agencies to study and fully synthesize the recommendations and opinions of experts; to grasp the situation, reality, feedback, and suggestions of the business community in order to promptly advise and propose to the city leaders appropriate policies on responsible business practices in the new situation.
