Workshop on Responsible Business in the Global Green Economy in Da Nang

At the plenary session, experts and managers presented and discussed contents on green economy , responsible business practices towards sustainable development and world trends; policy framework, green economic development strategy, responsible business practices towards sustainable development in Vietnam and toolkits to promote implementation (Provincial Green Index - PGI and Corporate Sustainability Index - CSI); Support program of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in responsible business practices and building harmonious labor relations contributing to sustainable development in Vietnam and the world.

At the same time, domestic and international experts also shared experiences, recommendations, and commitments with the business community to practice responsible business, towards a green economy.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the international workshop "Responsible business practices in the global green economy" contributed to raising the sense of responsibility of enterprises in complying with the law in business activities, proactively minimizing negative impacts on people, the environment and society in the "global green" trend in all fields.

This is not only an ethical responsibility but also an inevitable trend, helping to improve the competitiveness of businesses in the context of Vietnam in general and Da Nang city in particular integrating more and more deeply into the international economy.

The workshop is also an important opportunity for agencies, units, organizations and business communities to have the opportunity to approach and exchange with domestic and foreign partners and experts with extensive experience in management and responsible business practices, in order to research and implement creatively and appropriately in the city and the region, especially at a time when Da Nang is implementing new development models such as Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City, relevant departments and branches to study and synthesize all recommendations and opinions of experts; grasp the situation, reality, reflections and recommendations of the business community to promptly advise and propose to the city leaders to have appropriate policies on responsible business practices in the new situation.
