Dynamic destination on the journey to create coastal urban tourism

Large ward, great potential.

With a natural area of ​​over 38 km² and a population of nearly 50,000 people, Phuoc Hoi is currently one of the largest wards in Lam Dong province after the merger. Strategically located on the national coastal development axis, Phuoc Hoi possesses irreplaceable strategic advantages in the province's economic restructuring process.

Comrade Ton That Muon, Secretary of the Phuoc Hoi Ward Party Committee, stated: Planning management in the fields of commerce, services, and tourism is always given attention; the ward focuses on completing commercial and service infrastructure, creating a foundation for the development of modern and friendly tourism. Currently, the ward has approximately 1,200 commercial and service businesses, an increase of over 400 compared to 2020. The fields of restaurants, hotels, consumer goods, electronics, and freight and passenger transport are all developing strongly, meeting the increasing needs of residents and tourists.

On the other hand, in recent years, Phuoc Hoi has focused on investing in and beautifying the urban area in conjunction with developing coastal tourism infrastructure. Many roads have been upgraded and expanded, such as Nguyen Du, Le Minh Cong, Ben Chuong Duong, and Truong Vinh Ky, along with new drainage systems, sidewalks, and lighting, creating a modern and attractive appearance. Traditional markets such as La Gi Market and Cam Binh Market have been repaired and upgraded, contributing to stable trading activities and creating a civilized commercial environment. The Phuoc Loc Market project, part of the La Gi reclaimed land residential, commercial, and service area developed by Vi Nam Company, is 95% complete in phase 1, promising to be a new development highlight for the area.

Simultaneously, tourist accommodation facilities have increased rapidly, with 30 establishments now offering approximately 900 rooms to serve visitors. New investments have been made in entertainment, dining, guesthouses, and hotels, contributing to a diverse and attractive tourism environment.

The spearhead in economic development

Phuoc Hoi is gradually realizing Resolution 06 of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development until 2025, with a vision to 2030. Twenty tourism projects have been approved for investment in the area, of which 3 are under construction and 5 are already operational, concentrated in the Cam Binh coastal area, considered the "heart" of the local tourism economy. Besides infrastructure development, the ward focuses on rectifying community tourism activities in Cam Binh, ensuring safety, environmental hygiene, stable prices, and civilized tourism practices.

The ward Party Committee has also clearly defined its goals for the future: effectively exploiting potential, taking trade, services, and tourism as the pillars of development, linked with digital transformation and green and circular economic models. Tourism is considered a key economic sector, with a focus on developing unique products associated with coastal landscapes, local culture, and experiential agriculture .

The ward will also strengthen efforts to attract investment from capable and reputable businesses; encourage the development of smart services, tourism logistics, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in destination promotion, tourist guidance, and tourism data management. Simultaneously, Phuoc Hoi will continue to focus on preserving the landscape, protecting the marine environment, ensuring security and order, and building a civilized and friendly tourism culture.

The locality is also focusing on mobilizing investment capital to upgrade urban transportation infrastructure, build public spaces along the coast, and create ecological and tourism highlights combined with community activities.
