Today's live pig prices (December 12th) recorded a strong upward trend across all three regions, with common increases ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg. This adjustment has brought live pig prices in many provinces and cities nationwide to a high of 62,000 VND/kg.

Trends in live pig prices across different regions.
Northern market
In the North, live pig prices increased by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg in most localities, bringing the general price level to fluctuate between 60,000-62,000 VND/kg. An increase of 2,000 VND/kg was recorded in Cao Bang, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Phu Tho, and Hung Yen, all reaching the highest level in the region at 62,000 VND/kg. Ninh Binh province also saw an increase of 2,000 VND/kg, reaching 61,000 VND/kg.
The provinces of Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh , Lai Chau, and Dien Bien recorded an increase of 1,000 VND/kg. After the adjustment, the price in Bac Ninh is 62,000 VND/kg; Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, and Lai Chau reached 61,000 VND/kg; while Lang Son, Quang Ninh, and Dien Bien have a price of 60,000 VND/kg. The two provinces of Lao Cai and Son La remained unchanged, maintaining the price at 60,000 VND/kg.
Central and Central Highlands markets
Pork prices in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands also increased following the general trend, fluctuating between 59,000 and 62,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa, Hue, and Da Nang all saw an increase of 2,000 VND/kg, with Thanh Hoa reaching the highest price in the region at 62,000 VND/kg. Prices in Hue and Da Nang, after adjustment, are at 60,000 VND/kg.
Other localities such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa all increased by 1,000 VND/kg. Prices in Nghe An reached 61,000 VND/kg, while the remaining provinces listed prices at 60,000 VND/kg. Lam Dong was the only locality that did not change prices, maintaining them at 60,000 VND/kg.
Southern market
In the southern region, live pig prices also increased across the board and are currently trading in the range of 58,000 – 62,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai recorded the strongest increase of 2,000 VND/kg, reaching 62,000 VND/kg, leading the entire region.
Several other provinces and cities, including Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, and Ca Mau, also saw an increase of 1,000 VND/kg. After the adjustment, the price in Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City is 61,000 VND/kg; Dong Thap and Vinh Long are 60,000 VND/kg; and An Giang and Can Tho are 59,000 VND/kg. The lowest price in the region was recorded in Ca Mau at 58,000 VND/kg.
