Equipping reporters with the necessary skills to apply AI to journalism

On August 26, at Dong Thap Newspaper, Dong Thap Provincial Journalists Association organized a training course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) application in multimedia operations and podcast production skills.

Attending the event were representatives of the Provincial Journalists Association, Dong Thap Newspaper, Dong Thap Radio and Television Station, and more than 30 trainees who are members, journalists, and reporters from the province's press agencies, the Provincial Electronic Information Portal, Dong Thap Literature and Arts Magazine, and the District and City Cultural - Sports and Broadcasting Center.

The trainees were shared basic knowledge about AI by journalist Ngo Tran Thinh - Head of Digital Content Department, Ho Chi Minh City Television News Center; introduced and guided on how to use tools such as Gemini, Suno, CapCut... in the process of journalism. According to journalist Ngo Tran Thinh, AI is a support tool, not a replacement for the role of journalists. Good use of these tools can help journalists save time searching for information, create creative ideas and produce more diverse and attractive journalistic content.

The training course aims to equip members, journalists, and reporters with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply AI to journalism. Thereby improving work efficiency, contributing to creating quality journalism products, meeting the increasing information needs of readers.
