The Prime Minister emphasized that children are the happiness of the family, a great concern of society and the future of the country.

There are still about 1.7 million children in special circumstances nationwide.

Expressing his emotion at attending the program, the Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of “listening to children with the heart and protecting children with actions” with sincerity and concrete actions; highly appreciated the sponsors who gave meaningful gifts to the children, including bicycles to help them get to school more quickly.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government and the Prime Minister have issued and implemented many policies, programs and projects on the protection, care and education of children. All levels, sectors and localities have actively implemented them with the participation of social organizations, unions, people and philanthropists.

Thanks to that, the work of protecting, taking care of health and educating children has achieved many remarkable achievements: Child protection work has changed significantly. The rate of children in special circumstances receiving assistance increases every year.

In particular, child health care has been implemented synchronously and effectively (100% of children under 6 years old are granted free health insurance cards); especially during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, children were given priority for vaccination. Children's education has achieved important results; the rate of children attending school at the right age at all levels has continuously increased.

Children's cultural, spiritual, recreational and social life is increasingly rich and diverse. Children's right to participate continues to receive attention and focus; their voices and wishes are listened to and responded to.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that it is necessary to frankly acknowledge that child care and education still have shortcomings, difficulties and challenges. The whole country still has about 1.7 million children in special circumstances...

“That reality requires us to care for children more with all our responsibility, listen to children more with all our hearts, and join hands to protect children more with practical and effective actions, so that children can live in peace, happiness, love and develop comprehensively,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Avoid putting academic pressure on students

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that each family should create a happy and safe living environment, avoid putting pressure on children, so that children do not suffer unhappiness in their own home.

Each school should create an atmosphere where “every day at school is a happy day”, avoiding putting pressure on students to study. The community and society should “be responsible and loving towards children”, especially children in difficult circumstances.

Along with that, ministries, branches and localities must be responsible for ensuring that children live in a safe environment and develop comprehensively both physically and mentally.

“We must work together to achieve the goal of comprehensive physical and mental development of children. We must act for children with responsibility and compassion; at the same time, strongly condemn and strictly handle wrongdoings against children,” the head of the Government said.

For children in difficult circumstances, the Prime Minister expressed his hope and belief that, with the attention of leaders at all levels, families, schools and the whole society, with their own determination and efforts, they will follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers, continue to promote the fine traditions of our Vietnamese people, strive to study and practice well, to always be good children, good students, good grandchildren of Uncle Ho; in the future, they will become useful citizens for society, worthy of being the future owners of the country.
