Awarding 420 "For studious children" scholarships to students in disadvantaged areas in Hue

With the message “When millions of small dreams need a big gesture”, since its launch, the scholarship program “For studious children” has helped realize hundreds of thousands of small dreams of studious students nationwide. At the same time, it continues to call on the community, organizations and individuals to join hands to support millions of other studious dreams across Vietnam. This program has been organized by Viettel Group in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education since 2014.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Viettel Group will award more than 20,000 “For studious students” scholarships worth more than VND40 billion to poor studious students nationwide. This is the 10th year the program has been implemented, and more than 210,000 scholarships worth VND250 billion have been awarded.

In Thua Thien Hue province, in the 10th year of the “For studious children” scholarship program, the fund awarded scholarships to 420 students in 42 extremely disadvantaged communes, ethnic minority and mountainous areas, coastal and lagoon communes of A Luoi, Nam Dong, Phu Loc, Phu Vang, Phong Dien, and Quang Dien districts. Each commune has 10 students awarded scholarships, including 5 primary school students and 5 secondary school students, worth 2 million VND/scholarship.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province, said that in recent years, the work of encouraging learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society has become a widespread movement across the country, bringing practical benefits, creating learning opportunities for the poor, for those in especially difficult circumstances to participate in learning, encouraging and nurturing talents for the homeland and the country. In Thua Thien Hue, the work of encouraging learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society has always received special attention from Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, organizations, cadres, party members and people, thanks to which, many important results have been achieved. Viettel's "For studious children" program in recent years has also contributed to helping poor students overcome difficulties in their studies in a very practical and meaningful way. Hopefully, in the coming time, businesses, organizations, individuals inside and outside the province as well as Viettel Thua Thien Hue will always accompany the provincial government, pay attention to implementing social work in the fields of health, social security, education and training, especially the work of encouraging learning, caring for poor but studious students who are the future buds of the homeland.
