The decision also states that the relic protection area is determined according to the minutes and maps zoning the relic protection areas in the dossier.

People's Committees at all levels where there are ranked relics, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall carry out state management of relics in accordance with the provisions of law on cultural heritage.

According to historical records, after the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954), the Vietnamese army and people forced the French colonialists to sit at the negotiating table and sign the Geneva Agreement (July 21, 1954) on suspending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Our country is temporarily divided into two regions, with the 17th parallel as the boundary. The North is liberated and moves towards Socialism, the South is temporarily governed by the French Union army. Two years later, there will be a General Election to unify the country.

Implementing the Geneva Agreement, Binh Dinh was the area with 300 days to gather armed forces and political forces of the entire Inter-zone V to the North and Quy Nhon port was chosen as the only 300-day gathering location in the South.

This is the place where our army and resistance cadres from the South Central and Central Highlands provinces gathered and boarded ships to the North.

From 1954 to 1955, Quy Nhon beach witnessed emotional farewells between those who left and those who stayed. This was also the place where a solemn rally for this event took place.

On May 16, 1955, the last train carrying cadres and soldiers left Quy Nhon port to the North.

The relic was ranked by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province in Decision No. 845/QD-UBND dated December 24, 2007 with the name: Quy Nhon Port - Point of 300 days of troop transfer to the North.

The historical event of 300 days of regrouping to the North that took place at Quy Nhon port 70 years ago has become a major event in modern Vietnamese history.

This is a major historical event of strategic significance in implementing the wise guidance of the Party and Uncle Ho, marking an important turning point in the revolutionary history of the nation.
