The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is an activity to arouse interest and passion for reading among young people, teenagers and children throughout the city. From there, it encourages and promotes the reading movement, forming reading habits and skills for the young generation. This is an important factor contributing to the development of reading culture in schools and communities. After 6 seasons, the contest has become a useful playground, a forum for young people to share good books, inspire and exchange reading experiences effectively.

The Jury of this year's Reading Culture Ambassador Contest includes: writer Kim Hai, Head of the Jury; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Trang, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Jury; MSc. After nearly 4 months of organization, the 7th Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2025 received enthusiastic response and participation from 13,038 students at all levels: Primary, Middle, High School and Specialized Schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Organizing Committee awarded 6 first prizes to the following students: Le Hoang Anh Thu (Class 4/1, Ly Canh Hon Primary School, District 5); Pham Thi Nguyen Trang (Class 7/2, Binh Tri Dong Secondary School, Binh Tan District); Tran Minh Anh (Class 6TK1, Le Van Huu Secondary School, Nha Be District); Tran Thi My Duyen (Class 8A3, Hai Ba Trung Secondary School, Nha Be District); Vo Ngoc Phuong Trinh (Class 9A7, Hiep Phuoc Secondary School, Nha Be District); Pham Ho Minh Phuc (Class 5/1, Nguyen Duc Canh Primary School, District 5). These 6 articles will be submitted by the Organizing Committee to participate in the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded second prizes, third prizes and consolation prizes.

Having accompanied the Reading Culture Ambassador contest from the very first times, writer Kim Hai, Head of the Jury, expressed his joy when the students' writings later improved and reached high quality. According to the writer, the works the students chose surprised the Jury because they were very diverse, from classic to modern, from private feelings to profound philosophy, quite picky about readers and it can be said that one needs a fairly broad mindset to absorb them.

“We were also surprised to find many works that expressed the trend of a dynamic young generation, looking towards the future but not forgetting the past,” writer Kim Hai added.
Evaluating this year's contest, Mr. Vinh Quoc Bao, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library, said: "The students are not only book lovers, but also carry the responsibility of a Reading Culture Ambassador. That is the responsibility to spread the love of reading to the community, inspire people to discover the knowledge and value that books bring, and at the same time share effective reading methods to build a learning society. Through the quality and quantity of the contest, we have more confidence and appreciation for the sense of responsibility, the ability to inspire and the special love for books of the students."
