Many photographic works recording historical moments along with many valuable books and documents of former war correspondents - journalists, photographers Chu Chi Thanh, Nguyen Van Bao, Luong Nghia Dung, Hua Van Kiem, Hoang Van Sac, Vu Tao were presented to the National Archives Center III, Department of State Records and Archives, on June 5.

According to journalist and photographer Chu Chi Thanh, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, he and many other reporters in the spearhead reporter team of Vietnam News Agency (now Vietnam News Agency) went to the battlefield, recording the historical moments of the country. Many of their works were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Literature and Arts. To have these authentic works, the reporters of that time crossed mountains, through forests, and walked through rains of bombs and bullets. Some of them remained on the battlefield forever.

Many typical works in those photo and document blocks were respectfully presented by him, his colleagues, and relatives of former war journalists to the National Archives Center III, continuing to work with the State to promote the value of the works better in the future.

Ms. Luong Thi Nghiem, daughter of journalist and martyr Luong Nghia Dung, presented National Archives Center III with many of her father's works and documents.

Respectfully receiving the works and documents of the journalists and their relatives, Dr. Tran Viet Hoa, Director of the National Archives Center III, was moved to say that this is a precious heritage for future generations. According to Dr. Tran Viet Hoa, in the long march to protect national independence, each Vietnamese citizen contributed to the resistance in different ways. The war journalists did not directly hold guns but overcame all dangers and hardships, and managed to record priceless historical moments. Journalists and photographers Chu Chi Thanh, Nguyen Van Bao, and photojournalists Luong Nghia Dung, Hua Van Kiem, Hoang Van Sac, and Vu Tao are such people. Their works are extremely authentic and live forever with time.

The Director of the National Archives Center III also said that the Center is currently storing over 13km of documents from the country from 1945 to the present, most of which are administrative documents. The photo documents that have been collected by the Center and donated by groups and individuals in recent years, including the documents and photos of the above-mentioned war reporters, are valuable sources of information, clarifying and deepening many historical events of the country, contributing to enriching perspectives on resistance wars through documents and archives.

Relatives of journalist and photographer Nguyen Van Bao presented the National Archives Center III with a book of documentary photos and many works recording priceless historical moments.

Journalist, NSNA Chu Chi Thanh was born in 1944 in Hung Yen province. During his career, he devoted himself, devoted himself, passionately devoted himself to photography and made many great contributions. He is the author of many famous photographic works, including the group of works (4 photos) "Two Soldiers" which was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts in 2022. His contributions have also been recognized with many other noble awards, including the Third Class Anti-American Resistance Medal; Third Class Labor Medal; State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2012, along with many commemorative medals and certificates of merit from ministries, branches in the fields of culture, journalism and domestic and international photography awards.

Photojournalist Luong Nghia Dung was born in 1934 in Ha Tay (now Hanoi). He studied Physics at Hanoi Pedagogical University, and from 1966 was a reporter for the Military News Department, Vietnam People's Army; died on the Quang Tri battlefield in 1972. He was posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts in 2017 with the group of works (3 photos) "Moments to Remain" and the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007 with the work (1 photo) "Artillery Battle at Doc Mieu".

Meaningful souvenirs were presented by the National Archives Center III to journalists and relatives of journalists who trusted and handed over their valuable family documents to the Center.

Journalist and photographer Nguyen Van Bao (1930-2005) was born in Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh province. He was a reporter for Vietnam News Agency, specializing in taking photos of General Secretary Le Duan, and was Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. He is the author of the famous work "From the Thunder God to the Buffalo Cart" - the work that won the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007. In addition, he was honored to receive many noble awards, including the First Class Anti-French Resistance Medal; First Class Anti-American Resistance Medal; First Class Labor Medal and many commemorative medals, certificates of merit from agencies and departments, many domestic and international photography awards.

Major, photojournalist Vu Tao (1940-2005), from Ha Nam province, enlisted in 1961, studied at the Vietnam News Agency photojournalist class (1965-1966). He was a photojournalist of the General Department of Politics, Vietnam People's Army, seconded to Vietnam News Agency, retired in 1988. He was honored to receive many noble awards, including the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007 for the work "Hien Ngang" (Phu Lang Thuong, Bac Giang), was awarded the Second and Third Class Military Exploit Medals and many domestic and international photography awards.

Photojournalist Hoang Van Sac (1934 - 2015) was born in Hanoi. In 1947, he worked as a liaison for the Van Xuan Commune Party Cell (Thanh Tri Commune), Hanoi. In 1955, he worked at the Hanoi Police Department. After studying at the Vietnam News Agency photojournalism class (1960-1962), he worked as a reporter, then as Head of the Industrial Photography Department, Photo Editorial Board of Vietnam News Agency. His contributions have been recognized with many noble awards, including the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007 for the works "Squadron of 10 girls at Dong Loc intersection" and "Road to the frontline" (1968); Second-class Anti-American Resistance Medal; Commemorative Medal for International Duty with Cambodia and many domestic and international photography awards.
