In the 2022 - 2023 Winter-Spring crop, the province's total annual crop planting area reached more than 37,600 hectares, exceeding the plan by 0.36%.
The province has supported 780 tons of quality rice varieties, equivalent to nearly 16,000 hectares of land, and subsidized prices and fees for farmers; and supported 1,840 hectares of various commercial crops.
Units under the Department have organized 71 training courses for nearly 6,200 farmers on the transfer of scientific and technical advances, the use of pesticides, production processes and pest control on a number of crops...
The Agricultural Seed Center has transferred and applied scientific and technical advances to production on an area of 33 hectares of quality rice varieties; demonstrated 20 models of linking production of new rice varieties on a total area of 78 hectares; supported 5 demonstration models of organic quality rice production on an area of 100 hectares in Song Lo, Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac, and Lap Thach districts. The total production value of the 2022-2023 Winter-Spring crop reached over 2,150 billion VND.
In the 2023 - 2024 Winter-Spring crop, the agricultural sector strives to achieve a total planting area of 37,500 hectares, of which rice is 28,500 hectares, corn is 2,100 hectares, vegetables of all kinds are 2,700 hectares and other crops are 4,200 hectares. The total output of grain is 190,050 tons, with a production value of over VND 2,200 billion.
To achieve these goals, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued "instructions on crop structure and crop season in 2024"; directing localities to maximize the area of Late Spring rice, because this is the rice variety that reduces investment costs and the impact of unfavorable weather, pests and gives high productivity.
Prioritize the use of organic fertilizers, biological organic fertilizers, and microbial fertilizers; apply border-effect rice cultivation and organic agriculture to help plants grow healthily, increase resistance to pests and adverse external conditions.
