At Nguyen Hue walking street, the Organizing Committee displayed more than 200 images with the theme "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the New Development Era of the Vietnamese People" and "Pride of a Border Strip".
The exhibition introduces 95 images showing the long journey of steadfast, indomitable struggle full of sacrifices and hardships of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country, the peak of which was the heroic struggle of the army and people of the South, together with the mobilization of great human and material resources of the whole country, carried out three key strategic blows (Central Highlands Campaign, Hue-Da Nang Campaign and Ho Chi Minh Campaign) to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975.
Promoting the heroic tradition, after 50 years of construction, protection and development, the Party Committee and people of Ho Chi Minh City have always been united, dynamic, creative, achieved many great achievements, many bright spots, pioneered with many models and practical solutions in the construction, innovation and development.
Up to now, the city named after Uncle Ho has increasingly affirmed its role as a special urban area - a major center of economy , culture, education-training, science-technology; a hub of international exchange and integration; a pioneering city, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era - an era of rising up, developing richly and prosperously of the Vietnamese people.

At the same time, the exhibition also displays outstanding and typical works of the 3rd "Proud of a Border Strip" art photography contest organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission in coordination with the Central External Relations Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security , the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to honor and depict the life, work, activities, and combat training of our army and people who are day and night firmly protecting the borders of the Fatherland, especially in places where many ethnic minorities live, reflecting the glorious 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi said: The contest has attracted a large number of artists, intellectuals, especially the young generation to actively participate; leaving a practical mark, contributing to arousing love for the homeland, national pride, patriotism, awareness of firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and preserving the sacred borders of the Fatherland in every class of people.
The 2024 contest attracted nearly 2,000 authors from all over the country, with more than 14,000 entries. Based on the results of the contest, the exhibition's organizing committee selected 22 outstanding works and 128 works for display. The works were carefully invested, with a lot of passion, closely following the theme, creating new shooting angles, conveying realistic, emotional images, vividly reflecting the beauty of the homeland, country and people of Vietnam.
“Many works have contributed to spreading examples and simple but noble and sacred actions, to honor the forces that are day and night firmly protecting the border, border sovereignty, national territory, and the living space of the nation; highlighting the glorious 80-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army,” emphasized Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi.
The exhibition runs until May 5.
