Exhibition "From Dien Bien Phu 1954 to Hanoi"

Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet Nga, Director of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, said that the exhibition, directed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien and the Capital Command, took place within the framework of the Dien Bien Culture and Tourism Week in Hanoi, demonstrating the meaningful role of the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 and the victory of the Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the Air in 1972. Although it has not officially taken place, the exhibition space has attracted the attention of tourists since the afternoon of December 14.

Accordingly, the photo exhibition “From Dien Bien Phu in 1954 to Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air in 1972” with 150 photos, including 3 parts, is displayed in the walking street space of Hoan Kiem Lake. Besides, there is a “Check in” experience space for people and tourists to keep beautiful images bearing the mark of Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954.

Part I includes 60 photos with the theme of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954, introducing the plan of the French Army when occupying and building the Dien Bien Phu stronghold, at the same time understanding the policies, strategic decisions, and brilliant tactics of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command. Typical battles, examples of intelligent, heroic, indomitable fighting and the great contributions of the Vietnamese army and people made the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The Dien Bien Phu Campaign took place from March 13, 1954 and ended on May 7, 1954. The significance, scale and impact of the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 on the country and internationally.

Part II includes 50 photos with the theme of Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air in 1972, introducing the US plot to carry out a strategic air raid plan using B-52 aircraft to carpet bomb Hanoi, Hai Phong and the northern provinces. Part III with the theme "Rendezvous at the border" includes 40 photos introducing the special National Monument of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and some outstanding historical and cultural relics of the province. Introducing typical events and festivals in Dien Bien province: Hoa Ban Festival, Ban Phu Citadel Festival; meaningful and attractive sightseeing spots such as: A Pa Chai milestone, Pha Din Pass relic, Pa Khoang lake, Artistic architectural relics: Muong Luan tower, Chieng So tower, Cave relics: Pa Thom cave, Xa Nhe. Introducing some images of key projects that have been and are being completed towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory.

People and tourists in the capital are very excited about cultural and tourist spaces imbued with the cultural identity of Dien Bien - Northwest.

As planned, Dien Bien Culture and Tourism Week in Hanoi in 2023 with the theme "Brilliant Colors of Dien Bien" will be organized by the People's Committee of Dien Bien province in coordination with the People's Committee of Hanoi from December 15-17.
