The hydrological forecast bulletin at 10:45 a.m. on October 22 of the Southern Region Hydrometeorological Station warned that water levels at stations in the downstream area of the Saigon - Dong Nai River are remaining at a high level; the peak tide is forecast to reach approximately level III on October 22, then decrease again.
Meanwhile, Tri An Hydropower Plant continues to discharge flood water in the second phase with a flow rate of 160 m3/s, increasing the total water flow through the turbine and spillway to 910 - 980 m3/s. With the water flow from upstream, combined with the rising tide, there is a warning of the risk of flooding in the downstream area of Dong Nai River.

Currently, the water level of Tri An Hydropower Reservoir is 61.5m (design elevation 62m). Tri An Hydropower Company announced that depending on the weather, the water level of the reservoir and the water level downstream of Dong Nai River at Bien Hoa Hydrological Station, the Company may change the water flow through the spillway.
Tri An Hydroelectric Reservoir has a capacity of over 2.7 billion m3 of water, making it the largest reservoir in the southern provinces. In addition to its main function of generating electricity with a capacity of 400 MW, supplying electricity to the national grid, Tri An Reservoir also has the function of ensuring water for daily life, agriculture , repelling salinity and regulating floods for the downstream of Dong Nai River.
