In March, a report was submitted to the Prime Minister regarding the waiving of tuition fees for public school students in the 2025-2026 school year.

(NLĐO) - As requested by the Government, in March 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training must report to the Prime Minister on the implementation of tuition fee exemption for public school students nationwide.

In the Resolution of the Government's regular meeting in February 2025, the Government assigned the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to take the lead and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and other agencies and localities to urgently study the implementation of the Politburo's conclusion on completely waiving tuition fees for students from preschool to high school in public schools nationwide from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, and report to the Prime Minister in March 2025.

The Ministry of Education and Training is also required to coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to strengthen communication efforts and raise awareness and responsibility throughout society regarding the role and significance of lifelong learning and its contribution to improving the quality and competitiveness of the national workforce.

Simultaneously, finalize the program for implementing Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the Central Committee on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training. Alongside this, research, develop, and implement a plan to build boarding schools for secondary school students in remote, border, and island areas.

Previously, at the Politburo meeting on February 28th to review and assess the initial results of implementing Resolution 18 of the 12th Central Committee on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system's organizational structure to be streamlined, effective, and efficient, the Politburo unanimously agreed on the principle of implementing the contents of Resolution 18 more strongly, decisively, and quickly in 2025.

Also at the meeting, after hearing the Government's report on the financial balance during and after the streamlining of the organizational structure, the Politburo decided to completely waive tuition fees for students from preschool to high school in public schools nationwide. This will be implemented from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year (September 2025 onwards).

The Politburo has instructed the Party Committee of the Government to direct the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance, several relevant ministries and agencies, and localities to coordinate in concretizing and seriously implementing the aforementioned decision.
