Swimmer Pham Thanh Bao won the men's 100m breaststroke final with a time of 1 minute 0.97 seconds, breaking the SEA Games record (1 minute 01.17 seconds), bringing home the second Gold medal for the Vietnamese swimming team. This is the 8th Gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation today.

Starting in lane 7, 4 swimmers Kim Son, Quy Phuoc, Hung Nguyen, Huy Hoang excellently finished first, winning the Gold medal in the 4x200m relay. Continuously in the top 3, in the last swim, Hung Nguyen broke away from 2 direct competitors, finishing first.

Following his teammate Do Phuong Thao, boxer Nguyen Thanh Liem defeated his Filipino opponent Emmanuel Cantores with a score of 9-1 to win the Gold medal in the Vovinam men's 60kg category.

Martial artist Dao Hong Son successfully defended his SEA Games Gold Medal in Ju Jitsu (Men's Ne Waza NOGI 56kg category) in a dramatic manner. He won after 3 wins and 1 loss, only surpassing his opponent in the secondary index. This is the fifth Gold Medal of the Vietnamese sports delegation today.

Karate athlete Dinh Thi Huong won the fourth gold medal for the Vietnamese Karate team at the 32nd SEA Games in the women's 68kg kumite event.

14:45 Vietnam Vovinam won Silver medal

Two martial artists Nguyen Van Tien and Bui Hung Cuong won the Silver medal in the Vovinam three-man duet event with 267 points, 3 points less than the martial artists from Myanmar.

14:40 Karate and Pencat silat won 3 Bronze medals

In the karate category, men's kumite 60kg, Chu Van Duc won a bronze medal after defeating a Thai competitor. In the women's kumite category under 61kg, Nguyen Thi Ngoan brought home another bronze medal after defeating her Indonesian opponent with a score of 9-1. In the pencat silat category, men's Ganda category, the pair of athletes Dao Duc Hung and Vo Binh Phuoc won a bronze medal with 9,880 points.

Defeating the Philippines in the final match with a score of 21-16, the Vietnamese women's basketball team excellently won the Gold medal in the 3x3 event. Notably, this is the first Gold medal of Vietnamese basketball in the history of participating in the SEA Games.

After a disappointing loss to Cambodia in the semi-finals, the Vietnamese men's 3x3 basketball team continued to lose to the Thai team with a score of 13-21 in the bronze medal match.

In the vovinam event, in the men's 60kg combat semi-final, boxer Nguyen Thanh Liem dominated and defeated Anathasak Souliyavong (Laos) with a score of 10-0 to win a ticket to the final round to compete for the Gold medal.

This afternoon (May 7), the Vietnamese sports delegation will compete in the following events: Vovinam, jujitsu, boxing... The focus will be on swimming, when Vietnamese swimmers participate in the finals of the events: men's 50m backstroke, women's 50m backstroke, men's 50m freestyle, women's 200m freestyle, men's 100m breaststroke.

Having the advantage for most of the 3x3 men's basketball semi-final, the Vietnamese basketball team still lost 19-21 to host Cambodia. In the bronze medal match, the Vietnamese team will meet Thailand.


11:05: VOVINAM WON ANOTHER SILVER MEDAL!

In the final of the mixed basic technical team event, 6 athletes Le Duc Duy, Nguyen Hoang Du, Huynh Khac Nguyen, Lam Thi Loi, Mai Thi Kim Thuy, Nguyen Thi Hoai Nuong achieved 266 points, winning the Silver medal. With 270 points, the host team Cambodia won the Gold medal.

Pencak Silat, in the semi-finals of the women's tunggal event, boxer Vuong Thi Binh ranked second with 9,915 points, behind the Malaysian athlete (9,960 points), thereby winning the Bronze medal. In the men's tunggal event, boxer Pham Hai Tien also lost in the semi-finals, winning the Bronze medal.

10:05: SILVER MEDAL FOR VIETNAMESE VOVINAM!

The pair of athletes Nguyen Truong Tho and Do Ly Minh Toan scored 267 points, winning the Silver medal in the Vovinam men's machete duet event. The Gold medal went to two athletes Chanthasida and Piengpanya (Laos) with 270 points. Cambodia and Myanmar won the Bronze medal.

This is the second Silver medal of the Vietnamese sports delegation today.

9:58: THE FIRST SILVER MEDAL OF THE VIETNAMESE DELEGATION ON MAY 7!

Athlete Nguyen Thi Phuong Trinh won a Silver medal in the women's individual duathlon (two events - running and cycling), bringing home the first Silver medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation on May 7.

9:50: 14-year-old swimmer Nguyen Thuy Hien enters the final of the women's 200m freestyle

Nguyen Thuy Hien - the youngest athlete of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games - won the right to enter the final of the women's 200m freestyle. Thuy Hien ranked fourth among the 8 swimmers with the best results.

9:48: Pham Thanh Bao entered the final of the men's 100m breaststroke

In the men's 100m breaststroke qualifying round, Vietnamese swimmer Pham Thanh Bao finished second, earning the right to swim to the final. He finished behind Singaporean swimmer Nicholas.

9:45: Vietnam Women's Basketball Team Enters the Finals!

In the women's 3x3 basketball semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team defeated Indonesia with a score of 21-17 to win the right to play in the final match.

9:33: Vietnamese swimmer enters men's 50m freestyle final

Swimmer Jeremie Loic Nino Luong finished third out of eight athletes with the best results in the men's 50m freestyle qualifying round, thereby qualifying for the finals this afternoon. He is a Vietnamese-American athlete (his father is French, his mother is Vietnamese), 1m95 tall. In this event, Singaporean swimmer Jonathan Tan broke the SEA Games record with a time of 21.91 seconds. The old record was 21.93 seconds.

9:28: Vovinam Vietnam enters semi-finals and finals

In the semi-finals of the women's 60kg Vovinam competition, athlete Do Phuong Thao overwhelmingly defeated Myanmar's Hnin Nandar Oo with a score of 10-0 to qualify for the final. Before that, athlete Nguyen Thanh Liem defeated Eh Ammarin Phouthong (Cambodia) to enter the semi-finals of the men's 60kg event. In the semi-finals, Thanh Liem will face Eh Ammarin Phouthong (Laos).

9:17: Women's 50m Backstroke Qualifying Round, second leg, Singaporean swimmer Faith Khoo finished first. Vietnamese swimmer Pham Thi Van finished sixth.

9:14: Women's 50m Backstroke Qualifying Round, first round, Philippine swimmer Masniari finished first. Vietnamese swimmer Le Quynh Nhu finished fourth.

9:08: Men's 50m backstroke, second leg, Filipino swimmer Jacinto finished first. Vietnamese swimmer Mai Tran Tuan Anh finished fourth.

9:05: Men's 50m backstroke, first round, Singaporean swimmer Quah Zheng Wen wins.

Starting at 9am, Vietnamese swimmers will compete in the qualifying rounds of the following events: men's 50m backstroke, women's 50m backstroke, men's 50m freestyle, women's 200m freestyle, men's 100m breaststroke. Vietnam's men's and women's basketball teams will compete in the semi-finals of the 3x3 event, with opponents Cambodia and Indonesia respectively.
