From the night of November 15, the Central region will experience a large-scale heavy rain due to the continuous strengthening of cold air from the North, Northeast wind combined with windward terrain. Along with that, the East wind disturbance will gradually become stronger in the high altitude, also bringing in a large amount of moisture from the sea.
Rain will start from the night of November 15 and may last for many days in the southern region of Quang Tri province to Khanh Hoa. The areas with the strongest humidity convergence and heaviest rain will be Hue city, Da Nang city and the eastern part of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces. Rainfall in this area until November 18 is generally 250-500mm, in some places over 700mm.
With the terrain of rivers and streams in the Central region often being short and steep, heavy rains in a short period of time can easily cause floods to rise quickly, inundating low-lying areas. In addition, heavy rains for many days can also easily cause flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has asked provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa to proactively respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, and landslides. They should proactively organize the evacuation of people to safe places and have plans to support food and necessities for people at evacuation sites.
And today (November 14), most of the Central region is still sunny.
