China launched a new satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on July 9, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The satellite was launched by a Long March-2C rocket at 7:00 p.m. Beijing time (6:00 p.m. Hanoi time) and entered the planned orbit.
The satellite, built by the China Academy of Space Technology, will carry out test missions for satellite Internet technologies.
The Long March-2C rocket is 43 meters long, 3.35 meters wide, and has a takeoff weight of 242.5 tons. It is mainly used to deploy satellites into low Earth-synchronous orbits.
This is China's 26th rocket launch this year and marks the 478th flight of the Long March rocket series.
China is expected to carry out more than 70 space missions this year 2023.
