Press Center enhances its role after reorganization of provincial administrative units

(HMC) - On the afternoon of June 17, a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee led by Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy visited and congratulated the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

Here, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed that the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is a special milestone to look back at the development process and the role and importance of the press force in the cause of protecting and building the country. Vietnam's revolutionary press is growing stronger and stronger, becoming the main information channel, accompanying the authorities at all levels in conveying policies and guidelines, promptly reflecting all aspects of people's lives.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Press Center to proactively develop a media coordination plan in the post-merger context.

6 years ago, the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center was established as a bridge between the City government, the press and the people. Through the process of operation and growth, the Center has become a focal point for transmitting official information, actively supporting the City leaders in the management and handling of "hot" issues in the area that the press and public are interested in.

The role of the Center is further demonstrated through major events such as the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025,...

In the context of Ho Chi Minh City officially merging with the two provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , the scale and scope of operations of the new Ho Chi Minh City will be significantly expanded. Accordingly, the amount of information and the need for communication connections between agencies and units will also increase. As the only Press Center in the area, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the unit to proactively develop a communication coordination plan with departments, branches, localities, and organizations, ensuring that information is transmitted promptly and accurately to the press and the people.

Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy discussed some key tasks with the Center.

“After the new Ho Chi Minh City organizational structure officially comes into operation (July 1, 2025), the Press Center is expected to be even more successful, becoming a multi-sector, multi-field information transmission unit. Therefore, the City leaders wish the collective of cadres, civil servants and employees of the Center to continue to develop strongly, improve the quality of operations, and maintain the role of an effective bridge between press and media agencies and the Ho Chi Minh City government system,” Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized.

Director of the Press Center Nguyen Dinh Nhu Huong thanked and accepted the opinions of the working group.

On behalf of the staff, civil servants and employees of the unit, Director of the Press Center Nguyen Dinh Nhu Huong sincerely thanks the attention and encouragement of the City leaders. At the same time, he affirmed that the unit will continue to improve its expertise, innovate and be creative in its activities, accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in the new development journey.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), many units, departments, branches, organizations, and localities in the area visited and sent congratulatory flower baskets to the City Press Center.
