Temporarily suspend Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoan, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 1178/QD-TTg on temporarily suspending Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoan, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, from work until a decision is made by the competent authority.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan has been prosecuted and temporarily detained on charges of accepting bribes.

During the suspension period, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoan is entitled to 50% of his current salary (excluding leadership and management allowances).

Previously, expanding the investigation into the case that occurred at Hoang Long Construction Investment and Human Resources Supply Joint Stock Company (Hoang Long Company) and a number of related units, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency initiated a criminal investigation into the crime of bribery against former Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan (currently Mr. Hoan is Deputy Minister of Home Affairs) and 3 other defendants.

The Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to prosecute the accused, a search warrant, and apply preventive measures against: Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoan; prosecuted 3 defendants at the Department of Overseas Labor Management for the crime of accepting bribes, including: Tong Hai Nam, Director; Nguyen Gia Liem, former Deputy Director; Pham Viet Huong, Deputy Director. In particular, the police agency prohibited Pham Viet Huong from leaving her place of residence, and arrested and detained the remaining 3 defendants.
