Hai Phong Medical College enthusiastically responded to the "Red Blood Drops" Campaign in the summer of 2025

Blood is a special, irreplaceable medical product that plays an essential role in treatment, emergency, disaster prevention, as well as serving national defense and security. To ensure a safe and stable blood supply, the World Health Organization recommends that each country should have at least 2% of its population participating in blood donation each year. In Hai Phong, the voluntary blood donation movement has developed strongly in recent years, spreading widely in agencies, units, businesses and schools. The amount of blood received each year has continuously increased, contributing significantly to promptly meeting the emergency and treatment needs of the health sector. The city has been recognized many times by the National Steering Committee as a locality that effectively organizes blood donation activities and is proactive in ensuring blood sources to serve the people.

Leaders of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee presented flowers to congratulate and acknowledge the contributions of Hai Phong Medical College to the blood donation movement.

In 2025, responding to the Summer “Red Blood Drops” Campaign and the “Red Journey” Program launched by the National Steering Committee, Hai Phong City aims to promote and mobilize the receipt of over 10,000 units of blood, reaching about 30% of the annual plan target. The campaign plays an important role in proactively providing blood sources for emergency care and treatment of patients, especially during the summer - a time when local anemia often occurs.

The voluntary blood donation festival of teachers and students of Hai Phong Medical College has a special meaning, an opportunity for the school's staff, lecturers and students to directly participate in blood donation, spreading the noble gesture with the message "A drop of blood given, a life left behind". The activity not only demonstrates the spirit of humanity, wholeheartedly for the sick, but also actively responds to the "Pink Blood Drops" Campaign in the summer of 2025; practically celebrates major holidays in May and celebrates the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025).
