Ho Chi Minh City University of Law determines the rules for converting equivalent scores for admission methods (methods 2, 3 and 4).
Converting high school transcript scores higher than high school graduation exam scores is 2 - 4.5 points
The subjects performing equivalent score conversion are candidates registering according to the school's three admission methods, including:
Candidates with international language certificates or US SAT exam results will be considered in combination with high school transcripts (method 2);
Candidates studying at schools listed in the "List of 149 high schools with priority for admission in 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City National University" will be considered in combination with high school transcript scores (method 3);
Candidates with V-SAT exam results (method 4) have registered to declare information online according to the school's plan and have valid supporting documents, eligible to apply for admission.
The school converts high school transcript scores equivalent to high school graduation exam scores in 2025 according to each subject group (for method 2 and method 3).
The school has developed a formula to convert high school transcript scores to equivalent high school graduation exam scores in 2025 according to each specific subject group.
Equivalent point conversion formula: y = x - k
In there:
- y is the subject combination score after equivalent conversion;
- x is the subject combination score of the high school transcript (average of 6 semesters);
- k is the deviation of the subject combination score between the high school transcript score and the high school graduation exam score in 2025.
The deviation of subject combination scores (k) between high school transcript scores and high school graduation exam scores in 2025 is determined as follows:
For example, a candidate's high school transcript score according to subject group D01 is 28.0 points (x = 28.0 points); the difference between the high school transcript score and the high school graduation exam score according to subject group D01 is 4.0 points (k = 4.0 points).
Applying the above equivalent score conversion formula, the high school transcript subject combination score after converting to the high school graduation exam subject combination score of this candidate is as follows:
y = x - k = 28.0 - 4.0 = 24.0
This means that a candidate with a score of 28.0 in the D01 subject combination (Math, Literature, English) of the high school transcript will be equivalent to 24.0 points in the high school graduation exam.
Convert points using percentile method combined with linear interpolation
For the conversion of V-SAT test scores equivalent to 2025 high school graduation exam scores for each subject, the school will build a table to convert V-SAT test scores to equivalent high school graduation exam scores using the percentile method, combining linear interpolation to convert equivalent score levels according to percentile rankings.
This means that a candidate who scores 115 in math on the V-SAT will be equivalent to a 7.05 in math on the 2025 high school graduation exam.
At the same time, the school also announced the entrance score threshold (floor score) of methods 2, 3, 4 (score after conversion) and method 5 "Admission based on exam results in the 2025 high school graduation exam" with the minimum score (without coefficient) of the admission combinations.
